370 forged with dart 250cc CNc heads or 408stroker???
I have a set of Dart 250 cc heads they are indeed for a 4 inch or larger bore if i start with the iron 6.0 block and bore it 30 over use my stock Ls1 crank, put forged rods/pistons in it and rev it about 7200 you guys think it will make alot of power??? or would I be better off to just go all out and do the 408 stroker???
by the way the heads flow 354 @ 600"lift with 2.08" intake valves I just want to take full advantage of these and I kno the 408 would do that but I would wonder what a smaller cubed sreamer would do with them.
If anyone has done something similar with these heads please chime in

In my old Z I had a 60 over 6.0 iron block, L92 heads, unported L76 intake, Through a 4L80E AND 9" i MADE 445 RWHP @ 6600, Intake was a restriction @ that RPM but it pulled hard to 7K, it just started to drop off a bit.
Car weighed 3750 with me in it and ran 120 N/A. Keep in mind my 80 E sucked up some power.
The old saying may be true, but there are plenty of 408's & 416's making more power than many of the 427's & 440+ ci motors out there so combination in the head/intake/cam and cost may be better than the stroker crank.
I say spend you money in top end and run the stock stroke if money isn't there for everything now.

not necessarily unless it's apples to apples.
With the 370, you will need to spin it to around 8000rpm to get the potential out of those heads.
Put a girdle and main studs in it, and make it a 370 screamer.
If you want to keep it around 7200, build the 408.

No body has asked the most important question, what are you looking to do? A small cube engine with those heads will scream if you can turn the RPM but now your looking at titanium intake valves if your going to turn the rpm you would want along with a solid roller also remember your not going to make the midrange you would want in a daily driver. If its more of a race set-up it would be fine because your looking to run it up in the rpm's every run and the more rpm the more power (if thats what your set-up for) It would def be wicked like that. With the 408 you wont need to turn such high rpm with those heads and wont really need the sollid roller or the titanium valves eithersince you wouldnt be looking at anything over 7200. Your call, you looking to do N/A or a power adder too?
