So the question still remains, has anybody tried KOOKS 2" primary headers with the 3.5" collector on a head & cam LS1??

Step headers that are made with fairy dust will get you more HP.

If they really made more HP why don't the other header companies make them?

You can't blame Kook's, if someone says make me a step header or a header with wings then they will make it.

Kook's make a great header without a step or St Bidus twist in it.

You don't know how good it is to have someone tell me what they think with out any censorship. I just came from two websites where you wernt allowed to say the word ***

Is anyone with a honest reputation posting improved time and trap speeds before and after step headers? Or is it all Dyno hocus pocus?

American Racing now makes a 2" primary header for our 4th gens. The collector is a 3".

So are there any improvements to adding a 2" primary header to a head cam LS1. Is anybody running one?

alot of the bigger header designs are for people who are making seriouse power out of there ls1s, they really were not ment for stock hp motors if they were they would of been out YEARS ago before people were cranking out 500hp in there ls1s.

and to say stepped headers dont work? then why do most all racecars use them, if im not mistaken some formula cars run headers that are stepped up to 6 times.

and maryland speed did a dyno test on a set of 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 stepped headers that made 15 more HP than a regular set of 1 7/8s and both setups were KOOKs headers infact that is in a post on this forum somewhere

Nascar runs 800+HP Formula 1 900+HP

If your running 700+rwhp Then a step header might help. I don't know if they use 1 3/4" to 1 7/8"

I'm just saying its hype to sell headers more than HP to the ground. If a guy has a set of 1 3/4" headers and he is below 550rwhp it would be a waste of money to get an 1 7/8" or a step header. If you don't have a set of headers yet then buy what ever you believe in.

I agree with that statement, but the 1 7/8 are twice the price in most cases but the texas speed 1 7/8 are a good bang for the buck and will make more power threwout the entire power band vs stock manifolds. i think 1 7/8 are for all out drag purposes just like big cams cause they make the power at high rpms while giving up the low power

Man, 5-10 HP difference on a basically stock car when going with 1 7/8's? I don't see a serious reason on why I should spend an extra $150 on those headers.
