Anyone have any information regarding the Trickflow 6-bolt heads?

Trying to find more info on them as far as flow numbers, pricing and port style etc...

talk to vengeance or someone who sells them, but IIRC it's a $150 option for any of their heads. flow #'s don't change, you just get the same head but with extra bolt holes.

...someone correct me if i'm wrong.

We have a set coming for one of our cars right now.

The TFS 6 bolt heads are:

Cathedral Port
245cc's
2.1"/1.6"
70cc's
Ferrea SS valves
.660 springs, 150# seat/410# open (.680 optional spring)
4.125" bore (but ran up to 4.190")

I dont know what retail pricing on them is.

What we did, was rather than running the Ferrea SS intake valve, we sent a set of 2008 LS3 Valves. TEA is turning them down to the 2.1" requirement. This reduces the weight of the valve from over 100 grams, to right around 83 grams.

Ours is going on a 440cid LSx, with L19 head studs, and a custom Kenne bell twin screw supercharger.

Can't find flow numbers on their site. They have perhaps the most horrible website to navigate through to find things.

whats the deck thickness on the 6 bolt heads?

You need to go to www.totalengineairflow.com

Better yet, go to: http://www.totalengineairflow.com/pr...gmhead/tfsls1/

The deck thickness is .600. But with the 6 bolt version, it really doesn't matter. That thing isn't gonna move for nothing.

Is .600 enough for something like a 28-30 psi single turbo LSX iron 427ci. or the like?

it's a thick bitch, i DARE you to bust it loose. when my NA 454 is "old," it's getting de-stroked and i'll put the boost to it, probably in the 24-32psi range. my 245's aren't 6-bolt, but i'll trade them for some when i do that particular build.

At 28-30 psi, you've got a whole lot of other things you need to worry about.

But yes, provided you took the necessary precautions, the .600 deck will do no worse than a .750-.800 deck. Due to the 6 bolt design.

We just ordered a set of ARP L19's in the 6 bolt design today. That will take you from roughly 75lbs of clamping force (the regular ARP studs) to roughly 120-130lbs of clamping force. Add that to the 6 bolt heads, and you will be good.

BUT...You will still have a HUGE uphill battle keeping ANY head sealed at the boost level.

Jeff, at those cylinder pressures, what would you recommend? O-Ring the heads/block? can you o-ring an aluminum block with iron sleeves?
