Default What the hell? my rockers keep breaking the pedistools

My rockers (Harland sharp rebuilds) keep breaking the pedistools when I torque them to 21 ft lbs....

I did it very carefully this time and I checked and it nicked a small groove in certain pedistools...

cyl #1 intake and Cyl #7 exh

Cyl #2 exh and Cyl #4 intake... so far, I havent checked the rest of the even side...

Im gonna rotate the crank every time I torque them so the valves will be closed, this is the advice I was given..

anyone experience this??

I wasnt gonna make a thread, but i went through 2 brand new pedistools already...

Watch the pushrod on the intake for #1, when it comes up then goes down bring the piston to the top and you will have the first TDC position in the procedure.

With the imprint of the fulcrum in the aluminum pedestal and looking at the other pics with the bolts at varying heights, are you sure you don't have some of the rocker fulcrums upside down? They will rotate a full 360 degrees, so the pivot can easily be installed wrong if you don't pay attention to its orientation.

Red circles look like the bolts aren't tightened all the way or the fulcrums are upside down. Green is the correct orientation. Its hard to really tell from pictures, so just double check those two.

You got some of the fulcrums upside down. Thats whats leaving the imprints on the pedestals. I would still use them, just get them installed correctly and you should be good. As long as there not cracked that is.
