The c5 to c6 was a good change, but mostly just a facelift in the looks department. The c7 got intense plastic surgery

Sounds like a motor boat. ![EEK !!](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_eek2.gif)
My guess is that Chevy is trying to mimic a "European" sound to go with the Ferrari-ish design elements. Sounds like a mix between a ricer and an inboard boat motor with exhaust partly underwater.![Embarassed](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_emb.gif)
I dig all the technology available in the base Stingray, but thank God there will be some aftermarket exhaust systems available before it even hits showrooms.
Chevy, by their own admission, is trying to shift the target audience a bit. They want the Corvette to be "all grown up" and more sophisticated, thus the "Euro" look they are striving for. They want to throw off the boy-racer, rough and ready red-blooded American heritage. The emphasis is shifting toward a nice interior for the driving glove-wearing crowd, who want a "Euro" look and sound.
I'll take the exhaust note of the 427 cubic inch LS7 in my 2012, "crappy" interior 2012 ZO6 3LZ any day.
