Default L83 cam swap

Need help, I put a Texas speed stage one came in my truck. L83 2014. DOD delete, LS7 lifters, 7.850 rods, CHE Trunion kit and new valves from gm. Got everything put back together went to build oil pressure before starting it and it sounded week. We got everything ready went to start it and nothing. Got to looking and the intake valve isn’t closing all the way. Took the rod out and it build compression. Talked to Texas speed and they say the rods are perfect for the setup and the lifers have plenty of give to makeup any different. Need some ideas guys!!!!!

And thank YOU for the sarcasm! The reason nobody responded is that none of them have encountered your issue. Or they WOULD have responded to help you.
How was your issue resolved, if you don't mind saying?

Took the lifters out and disassembled it. Drained fluid out. We soaked them in oil not knowing he used 15/40. Not sure if that had anything to do with it but the lifter wasn’t taking up slack making us think the rod was to long.

Yeah that's way too heavy an oil for any modern engine. Old school thinking... Once the lighter oil got around, all was well. I think the oil was a major player in this issue. Best of luck to you and enjoy the ride!

This is why I don't soak lifters.

And if you want answers here, they won't always come immediately. But I'm sure you're always johnny on the spot helping everyone on the internet the second they post..

Essentially yes. I pour fresh oil on the cam and lifter bores through the lifter holes then wipe the lifters with oil or pour oil over them, then I slap them in, then I pour oil on top of them and lube the pushrod tips and lifter cups and tips with oil or assembly lube.
