Default Front timing sensor issue

I had a 408 built and opted to use a gear drive for the cam. I now am running into problems with the timing sensor, it's bottoming out on the timing gear and leaving approximately 1/4" out of the cover. Is there a different sensor I can use, or is there a different timing cover I can use to remedy this? Do I have to have a spacer made to cure this? Thanks for any help.

No wonder I got confused. This is the Gen V forum, not Gen IV.
