How does the ls7 use 6.067" rods with a 4" stroke yet no tall deck?

Default How does the ls7 use 6.067" rods with a 4" stroke yet no tall deck?

This has been driving me nuts, how does the LS7 manage using the same short deck to have +.378" stroke from a normal LS, yet uses a rod that is only .032" shorter than a standard LS rod? If the deck isnt raised, whered the extra .346" come from? I cant imagine they pulled almost 9mm from the piston somehow...

Well since stroke is in a circle you only need half the distance additional clearance. And it’s going to be in the piston pin height.
