Coil Relocation Kits
I'm thinking about doing some engine bay clean up, and I'm kicking around the idea of relocating my coils. The main reason being I want to get some custom valve covers, and I don't want them to be hidden by the coils. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a kit to accomplish this? I have seen several universal brackets, and a few kits with the brackets and cut to length wire sets, but I'm looking for a plug and play type kit that does the work for me. Does such a kit exist?
I'm super busy with work, so I don't have a lot of time to work on the car. I was hoping to find a really easy to use kit that comes with the wires already cut to length and assembled, a coil bracket that gets mounted in a certain location, and the extended wire harness.

I just spoke with Rick at Firecore yesterday about some custom wires for my relocation - which hasn't been started yet. I'm not sure where I want to mount them yet, but I plan on fabbing up my own brackets with hardware from Home Depot and getting custom length wires from Firecore. Depending on how big of a hurry you're in, I can send you all my details when I do this. I'll do a write up as well.

We make a coil relocation kit but it will still require you to make your own wires. It is really not that bad though. You only need to do one end of each wire and it comes with all the tools needed to crimp it on. Check it out here...

I suppose I could just measure what length wires I need for each cylinder and have any wire company make them...correct?
Thanks.

I'll have to check the frame rails next time I get under the car.
Is there a max length of wire? It seems like you would want them to be as short as possible.

We offer both a 1ft and 2ft extension for the coil pack wire. Also, the coil pack harness has got about a 6" extension on it too. So from where your white coil pack plug is now, you have up to 2.5ft to move the coils.
For the spark plug wires, they come 3ft long and you cut them down to the correct length. Shorter is better when it comes to spark plug wires but we have had no issues running them at full length.

I think John was aiming his opinion for cars more like his. Meaning a fully gutted drag car with tons of room in the engine compartment. Right now, he has them mounted on the front of the heads. Some cars will have room on the frame rails, some wont.
John - Any pictures you can post of your setup?
