Welcome to the club Eroniger- I can't even pronounce your name, lol. Cleveland area here.
I'm still trying to figure out what happened to my car on the way home. My rearend started making a god awful noise and my buddy driving next to me noticed it first. It got louder so I pulled off the freeway and on the off ramp it made the most horrible grinding and growling noise. I thought the rearend blew up. It was loud!! Drove around a parking lot and it made the noise a little then went away. Drove all the way home nervous as hell, but it never came back and it's been just fine since. Any thoughts on that one?

WizardofDetailing - Thanks My brothers LT1 TA did that same thing. The noise was AWFUL but then like you said it went away. He never had the problem again after that.

It has been rebuilt 3 times already lol...and was whining the night before the meet, I was afraid I wouldnt make there and back. I have that 8.8 swap ready to go in just need to clear out the garage so I can put it in, hopefully this week since im off work.

I wish I could find a rear end to put in my car. Cash it tight though haha.

Just upgrade your internals and dont dump the clutch at 6k rpms, you will be fine. I have the detroit truetrac and 373's, as long as I dont take it to the track it works good because on the street the tires just spin. I dont even have a reinforced cover.

That's what my original plan was but a lot of people talked me out of it haha. I think I need to do some motor mods before I need to mess with the rear anyway. I don't plan on running slicks (yet) lol so spinning the tires will always be a factor.
