Have a 2002 Firehawk. the other day it started and held idle at 400rpms. Turned it off then restarted and again 400 rpms. Third time shut it off and restarted them idle was normal around 850. Everytime it rains there is no electric power. the voltometer reads low voltage. had the battery checked which came back good. When it dries however, it starts fine. What the hell is wrong with this thing?

Maybe we can arrange a time for one of us to look at it and help diagnose the issue. Sounds like a loose connection, corroded connector, or maybe even a cracked coil that's shorting when its wet. Troy-i was thinking about maybe going friday for one last time. Hopefully my car will survive a few passes.

If it breaks, its going to be an extreamly expensive winter. Between the upgrades i want to accomplish and rebuilding the trans and diff, its already gonna cost enough. The last thing i need is to be replacing broken parts too.

Loose power wire on the alternator or bad alternator. If the motor is running it should read perfect voltage. If not, the alternator either isn't putting out or isn't connected properly.

Check the large red wire going from the battery to the alternator. Its a 13mm on the rear of the alternator. It will have a red boot covering it up. If that is tight, time for a new unit.

Alternators like to act up when its damp. Or wet.

Corey is gonna look for every ecuse possible to take it apart. Just man up and do it already!!! Puss.
