Oh and I can get the car started but it won't stay started. The bolt for the (-) terminal is just done. I have to keep revving it to keep it running. Damn thing pisses me off. Thanks guys!

point of a t56 swap is to be able to have fun driving the car on the street, and not shattering a tranny each year....wish i could help you out with what parts you should use on the 4L60, but i dont really know shit about the a4 side of things. I'd say ur best bet would be to check out the auto trans section in the forums and see what they are running. either that or take it to your buddy's with the shop and ask him what he thinks

Get billet servos, and a transgo shift kit if you don't already have them.

The reason bob is saying that wiz is cause its true, my car has a little over 80k on it and it has a rebuilt tranny, coreys car (nasty2000z28) is getting ready for #2 I believe, joes car had a rebuilt tranny in it, and most of the a4 guys you will talk to have rebuilt tranny's. For the money you'll spend on the car having the tranny rebuilt, itd be cheaper to throw a built th400 in it and call it good. No ones telling you you can't rebuild it or make it work, but they are trying to give you advice on a way to not have to worry about it ever again. So take it how you want but they are trying to help

WizardofDetailing-how much you looking to spend on parts and rebuild on the 4L60E ?
Being a A4 driver myself,I understand what everyone's saying. I would love to have one of each,an M6 for DD and an A4 for dragstrips and 'Mexico',being that I only have one,the A4 is the priority.
An M6 would have caused a blown rearend and replacement with a 12 bolt or 9" the first year I got it. The stock A4 took 140,000 miles to break(forward sprag).

Take it as an opinion, but the 4l60s just dont have what it takes, don't kno why. Same designer as the 10bolt I guess.

Ok, here it is. Chuck this is why i wanted you to call me and id give you all the info you need. Things to get, deep pan, the beast sun shell, 5 pinion planetarys, billet servos, transgo hd2, transgo high rpm pump rings, tci master race overhaul kit or a kit that has the nine clutch third gear setup, not the six clutch, and make sure you have a decent sized tranny cooler. And you need to use it in line with your factory cooler as well. Gold colored low/reverse and forward sprag. Im working at summit tomorrow. Please drop in and ill look it all up for you.
The reason my tranny needs done again is because its still not tuned for anything but timing and a lil bit of a/f adjustments. NOTHING has been setup for my tranny. So all i need to do it replace my clutches and im golden.
Joes tranny was fucked from day one, when the guy rebuilt it he put all stock parts in it and a truck pan on it. Nothing for what was done to the car.
When its done right, these will hold up. If they didn't then rossler, rpm, performabuilt none of them would build them. Its all in what you are willing to spend on them. Mines been pretty good i think. Only slips once in a while if im not paying attention to when i shift it. Hell, ill even bet that if i re shimmed the third gear clutch pack and got it tuned, it would be perfect. But i made a mistake when i did it the first time, i didn't use red alto clutches. But that's what's going in this time for sure.
