98z28cobrakiller has a th350 w aftermarket clutches and a trans brake. nothing else
his tranny has 200+ 9 second passes, and a handfull of 8 second passes. his tranny has never skipped a beat. in a 3800+lb car

am i saying u need a tranny tht will survive 9 sec passes??? no.
am i saying u should get one that will survive mid 11s? yes.

when it comes to trannys, overkill is always good.

get a good cooler, and run it in PARRALEL with ur factory one. read a good thread the other day about parralel vs series and was surprised in the differences, but makes sense now

4x4 pass, launching at about 6 psi, any more than that and it did a 4x4 wheel hop that was scary. I did get 2 1.68 60' with it though.

Cause seriously, your the one acting like a spoiled kid. If you knew you were going to rebuild the 4l60 why would you come in and ask what tranny to go with? Then you insult joe, and even me. Granted I haven't been around fbodies my whole life, but that doesn't mean I've never built or helped build a vehicle. And yes james and joe might have their cocky moments, but seriously having met them both in person they are 2 of the nicest guys I've hung out with (along with corey, matt, and all the other guys eho come to the small g2g's) and seriously, I don't know where that dyno racer comment came from. My cars never been dynoed. and seriously, I work 6 days a week every week for the past 2 years, and I don't set in an office all day, I'm out turning wrenches. Have been since I was old enough to walk.
So seriously, you can either act like a know-it-all douche and gtfo, or you can listen to advice that you asked for, and move on from this little hissy fit.

rossler stage2 terminator 4l60e: $$2,000 holds 800hp
rossler stage2 terminator th400: $$1,400 holds 1200hp

which do u think requires more parts????

more parts to make it LESS durable....... idk, maybe ur seein somethin im not, lol

same goes w the rossler street and strip versions of both trannys

th400: $995, holds 700hp
4l60: $1400- holds 550hp

maybe u wanna spend more?

o, and those numbers aernt "dumbass, arrogant, stupid opinions" like u thought u heard before. the numbers are facts. the 4l60e requires twice as many parts to make it half as reliable.

but u can do what u want. it is up to u, next time u ask what parts to buy(and there will be a next time) i will suggest a complete rebuild kit from sams club or ur local walmart.

I work at case farms. 24 trucks, 29 trailers,2 chick bus', a smithway, 4 sellicks (4wd diesel loaders) 2 chicken hawks (same thing different company), a fleet of ford rangers and f150's, in a garage smaller than joes with 4 mechanics, equipment covered literally in chicken shit. I get paid shitty, I have shitty hours, and I bust my ass sun-fri. you want a cookie cause you work 7 days a week, mere n ill see if I can afford one for ya. You want a pat on the back for running a couple crews? Mere n ill see if I have the energy to do it for ya before you break your own arm. I am the lead mechanic, if its broke I fix it and get it on the road. I've swapped trannies in semi's faster than the guy you pay to change your oil can change your oil. I do shit that normal people would think can't be done. And I don't do it cause I make a shit ton of money like you do, I do it because I love the challenge. So insult whoever you want, tell the story however you see fit. But you sir are about as worthless as a politicians promises, and I for one hope you enjoy spending money several times fixing your tranny since your so rich.
