Very likely a car imported to be used by a ME diplomat or someone who can import a car exported from Australia to the ME.

Some months ago, a red Lumina was discussed at a "drag meeting" in the Washington DC/Maryland area - and that car apparently belonged to a diplomatic mission.

Wow I didnt realise it was that famous. That car was a Middle East Market Chevrolet Lumina SS. Red with red interior, auto and 325 hp rated ls1. It belongs to a friend of mine from saudi arabia (i live there as well). His father works for the Saudi Embassy in Washington DC (explaining why it was seen there). Hence he was able to ship it stateside. He was a friend of our Muscle Car Association as well and attended Our college in Daytona BEach FL. Quite a nice car. fast too. 13's after only exhaust work. heres some pics of it here at our spring 2003 fair: ERMCA Gallery

I havent spoken to him recently thus I do not know what he has done with the car. but the sightings of it in fl and maryland are the same car i would say. But it sure did turn heads down herre lol.

Any interest in selling the car? If so, can it be titled as a normal car in the USA?
