I think those 4 door versious are awesome. If I could pick up a 4 door version over here, even with the hideous GTO body panels There would be one in our driveway...Sans the goofy Hitch, The Silvy has one on it.

Yes the group a one looks cool and so does that director they are both nice cars.
Each to their own but I wouldnt call american muscle cars are gay though. A VW beattle or a Audi tt maybe.
I just dont like VN to VX era of cars same with falcons of that era AU etc. VY Comodore was so much better and so was BA Falcon IMHO.

Who said US cars looked better in the 90s? Are you high?

Ford, GM and Chrysler wouldn't be virtually bankrupt if their cars were as good as Australia's.

No not at all are you? Cause no one so far has said US cars of the 90s looked better but I do like a lot of 90s cars like C5s,Cobra Mustangs,Trans Ams,SS and Z28 Camaros to name a few. But now that you have brought it up, they actualy were better looking IMHO.

i like them post 97 vettes and mustangs moreso than post 97 aussie cars however they are coupes ,4 door wise i prefer commodores and bas over any us car,and i prefer the us f sereis trucks compared to the whimpier + scabbier looking ford territrorys)

My 2002 VU SS which was the ute version of the VX Sedan, have added the monaro bonnet since the pics to try get underbonnet temps down.

Runs a 800hp Garret Ball Bearing Turbo, 3.5" Dump into twin 3" pipes, a custom cam and ported heads with 1.7yt Roller Rockers. The engine is out at the moment and getting a forged standard stroke bottom end after a cylinder lost compression and it collapsed some lifters. Probably a bigger custom turbo grind cam too because the original was really a NA cam. Was 392 rwkw at 10psi before the motor went and is being built to easily see 15 psi!

A brock director is basically a top of the range calais spec vk but hdt enhanced from factory spec v8s model.

I beleive they come in white, bronze, silver + rarest of them all in black .
you could specify a manual from the base auto transmission +up to the undocumented 330bhp/308 ci emission legal ,blueprinted engine from hdt.other options were posi lock diff,2.60/3.36 diff ratio options.16in rims, body kit including ,sideskirts, spoilers+bonnet scoop, electric sunroof, bilstein shocks, upgraded spring rates, leather seats and a towbar.

They will eventually in time, become the next wave of most desirable cars in oz and be remmembered as the very last muscle car ever produced with no catalytic converters which interm made them ,the last legal nicer sounding v8

H&m headers were responsable for that very distinct and exotic sounding exhaust note, they were contracted by hdt to develop the best exhaust system for the road and race cars, along with countless of weeks dyno testing and evaluating different parameters to get the most out of them.

when I tuned a few of them years back,I used to tell the customer to take it for a spin around the block on his own,and refused to ever get in any of them cars (manual ones anyway),because I liked the sound of them so much,I just wanted to hear how they sounded
then when the customer returns,I lied by telling them, I thought I heard something wierd, and I want to double check, can you please thrash the car around the block again? so off he went again.

Why why why wont GM or Ford for that matter import these Utes. They are so freakin cool. Who cares that they can only haul 1000lbs. Dudes with 1500 pickups just toe jet ski's anyway right.

Yeah yuh ever wonder why cars in the US have clutch switches so dummies wont start their cars in gear or LSD diffs without traction control, I could go on forever, manufacturers are afraid of getting sued by folks who just can't accept the fact that they are stupid. That's why we get such shitty cars for the masses.

According to some reports, we are getting the Ute as a Pontiac.

Yeah I just read that in one of my mags. I don't know how well it will sell in American as it is such a strange market but it would be very cool.
