I'm watching Barrett-Jackson and they said GM confirmed today the UTE will be brought to the US as a Pontiac. Definitely cool to see more of the Aussie vehicles heading our way.

Runs a 800hp Garret Ball Bearing Turbo, 3.5" Dump into twin 3" pipes, a custom cam and ported heads with 1.7yt Roller Rockers. The engine is out at the moment and getting a forged standard stroke bottom end after a cylinder lost compression and it collapsed some lifters. Probably a bigger custom turbo grind cam too because the original was really a NA cam. Was 392 rwkw at 10psi before the motor went and is being built to easily see 15 psi!
bad *** ride imo

Motors been done in my ute I'm running it in at the moment, ended up staying 346ci with SCAT I Beam Billet rods, ACL Forged dished pistons C.R dropped to 9.0, stuck with the 228 cam, and ditched the yella terra rockers cause they kept breaking. 2000kms to go on the motor then we go for 16 psi!

Also a couple of pics of my mates HSV VX Clubsport R8, 20" mags, full leather Coulson seats, sunroof, M6. Enjoy

Mate we had the LS1 quite a bit before the GTO. And it powers quite a few more models than that over here. And yeah I agree the GTO is ugly but Holden only designed it that way to Americanise it. Our Monaro design is much cleaner and nicer on the eye IMO.

The red one is nice and the ute is nice also, not fgan of the color. But that grean one looks cheap and those rims are hideous.

We throw them all away. MAF's have been proven to be a restriction because of that and the superior throttle response Speed Density tuning provides it has become common place in our scene to run MAFLESS. Hell even HSV (The Australian GM Performance Devision) released cars MAFLESS. The days of SD tunes not being able to compensate for weather changes are long gone with custom operating systems like EFI LIVE's OS3. I don't understand why US Tuners haven't embraced this method. Perhaps their understanding of it isn't as sound as ours.

I look at these cars and I just don't see it....I dunno, I respect that there fast and that they carry obe of the best american 8's ever made. But for some reason they do not appeal to me. I guess muscle is different in australia. To me seeing an LS1 in these cars is like seeing an LS1 in a miata or rx7....respectable and great engineering but just not for me regardless if it comes stock with it. They seem pretty weak looking, more sleeper like...which may be a good thing i guess.

I see where your coming from here, but to get it you have to understand what our cars come from. The core design is not purpose built muscle car. Rather its run of the mill family sedan. What we have though is an extremely strong following for performance in these such vehicles. Looking from an American perspective I can understand the unpure feelings of our vehicles being classed as muscle cars. Australia simply doesn't have the money to design, build and justify purpose built 2 door hero cars like the corvette. The monaro (GTO) was our last and it didn't sell enough to justify its future even with US sales. Instead our car makers modify the base product to a point where it becomes a sudo muscle car. You guys have the G8 now so you can have a taste of our entry level V8 cars. Still though we have far better products available in the HSV stable that the US will probably never see.

I look forward to going to Alaska next month and driving some of the US's finest
