how is monaro pronounced? monaro (mon-er-O)
or is it
monaro (mon-air-O)
sounds stupid but my buddy and I got into a little tiff about it. figured someone in here would know!

Here in Australia they say...AL yuh Min EE um...sounds so wierd. It's funny the differences in the things we say.

Oh lets not get into the debate how to say aluminum. Besides it gives each other something to snicker at when the other says it.

There is a Monaro district in southern New South Wales (like a "county") and their official website says the place is pronounced Mon Air O.
To me ,for the car, that just sounds wrong.....and personally think Mon aR Oh is the more popular version.
Maybe that's why there's yet another slang version...just like you might call someones Firebird a "Bird".......In a casual mood someone would say " Nice Munro Mate".

funny stuff herein aussie its mun-air-oh., depends on where you are from in the states as to how it would get pronounced. southtern accent, new england, chicago or west coast accents
