HSV is right..work on aluminium, like as in aluminium can...we in the states say...A Loom In Um

Here in Australia they say...AL yuh Min EE um...sounds so wierd. It's funny the differences in the things we say.

Oh lets not get into the debate how to say aluminum. Besides it gives each other something to snicker at when the other says it.

I always though Monaro was pronounced mon air-Oh

It might depend what part of Oz the speaker is from.....just like you guys, there are language variations from one state to another.

There is a Monaro district in southern New South Wales (like a "county") and their official website says the place is pronounced Mon Air O.

To me ,for the car, that just sounds wrong.....and personally think Mon aR Oh is the more popular version.

Maybe that's why there's yet another slang version...just like you might call someones Firebird a "Bird".......In a casual mood someone would say " Nice Munro Mate".

Listen to this Australian Holden ad and you'll hear for yourself.

Similar word ----> Camaro
An Aussie would say: Cm aR Oh

When we hear it on TV etc from an American it sounds like you are saying:
Cm AIR Oh or Cm Aero
