We will be there. We have done 3 stops the last 2 years and 1 in 07.

We will pic up in nashville and go to det. Have had alot of fun and it is always good to see some buddies 1-2 a year at hot rod events. We may stop and pic up the wifes 79 z28 on the way by.

Will be in dads 71 chevelle with new 6.0 I am putting in the car in the next couple weeks

I love the Hot Rod Power Tour, and I've done 6 Long Hauls, but I must say I'm disappointed that they keep going to some of the same cities/areas over and over
However, I do plan on going again next year.

Yeah I am disappointed too! We were in the Detroit area 2 yrs ago and I sure do not want to go back there again. We have gone on PT 4 times and did 2 long hauls and it was a priceless experience, we loved it! But I think its taking a toll on our 70 Camaro. True it has AC, overdrive, a good strong engine, but the exterior is taking a beating with dings & chips which is expected, but I dont want it getting worse. We love driving and showing it, going on shorter cruises so want to preserve it as best we can. I was hoping for some of the stops to be a little closer to home for us and since they aren't will sit out the '11 tour.

I still recommend for others to go and live the dream, it's a blast!

You either build them to drive or you build them to sit around and look good...I prefer to tour till it hurts..I put 25K-30K a year on my ride and I repainted the whole car and replaced the windshield a few years back..if you drive them they will get nicked up .... I'll probably will have to repaint it again in the near future..I don't care I built it to drive and have fun with ... I go to alot of car events over the course of the year...but the Power Tour puts all of rest them to shame on the fun factor guage...

PS Don't be skeeered of Detroit ... it won't hurt ya.

I get what u are saying.

But this was our 1st and probably our last project. We're not gifted to do the all the work ourselves and had some of it done professionally. Its built to drive but to look good too. It has candy paint and as u know u just can't touch it up like u can some other paints. Not saying we won't do PT again, hopefully we will but maybe by then we will have taken care of the paint issues. Just want to keep it looking as good as possible for as long as we can Got a lot invested in it

What are the qualifications of a hotrod in order to participate? In other words what does the car have to be? What's your definition of a hotrod?

there have been minivans(with several years worth of participant stickers)... anything can run, no regs.. you have to have current registration and proof of ins to get registered though.

some of the "non traditional" cars i happen to have pic's of online...

Cool; thanks for the clarification. What you've noted are examples of exactly what hotrods are, by definition. Wanted to confirm. Thanks

I've always wanted to go ever since the Power started years ago. Never works out.
I would like to go in my 02 SS. I've driven her 1300 miles round trip and wasn't too bad. Not sure about taking 3000 mile trip. I'd like to go with friends, but if I wait on them, I might never go. So what can a 1st timer like me expect going solo..or is solo not recommended?
