I thought the idea of the power tour was to run back roads, seems like it is mostly freeway.

Normally they try to take the "back roads" as much as possible. They said they had to drive the route 4 times before they released the info due to many storms that hit down south plus lots of construction. Maybe they had no choice. Also there are a few stops that are quite far apart and in order to get to the venue in time for activities (Im especially thinking of Indy) one would make better time on the interstates. Altho to me that takes the fun out of it. Anyway I wouldnt want their job of planning the route. U know its gotta be a LOT of work!
