LS1 Swap on 03' Cobra
#123
Excuse me "CAM" it was a typo.. And if your going to call my car slow come race me or STFU and move on I guarantee I will make you eat your words... And waste my time and money ? I love my car why the **** would I sell it ? The whole swap thing was a joke anyone with half a brain could figure that out....

I can't believe that this thread hasn't been locked yet but the thread with the 5.0 idiot driver fail video was locked halfway into the second page... What? Were the mustang owners so upset that they got it locked, but troll crap like this is still up? And the only person that really got upset on that thread was Ohioburn. This is a GM/LS1 forum right? ... Yeah if there was a video of a Camaro driver failing like that on SVTP that thread would probably go on for ages, and whatever GM owner commented on it and tried to defend it probably would've been banned.

Has anyone else noticed that, generally speaking of course, the more blindly diehard fanboy someone is, the worse their spelling and grammar seem to be?
As far as this thread goes, I like it.

I really don't see what the big deal is, any engine can be set up to make a lot of HP/TQ with forced induction. IMO, take a equally prepped 2001 LS1 engine running the same amount of boost with the same type of supercharger in a car about the same weight, the results = unhappy Ford Mustang Cobra driver.

i dont quite get it... its like comparing apples and oranges... there both awesome platforms but its all what you like. Not gonna lie, as much as I love LS cars and GM products... if I ever find the right deal on an 03-04 or even a shelby id probably buy it... I dont understand the ford fanboy mentality or the gm fanboy mentality. I dont consider myself a brand loyalist, im just a car guy, I like all cars (with the exception of rice and donks), its all about bettering the hobby. I just dont get stupid rivalrys... theres always someone on the other side of the fence thats gonna be faster. Just enjoy what you have and what others have and relize people have diffrent tastes. Apprieciate the hobby for what it is.
As for this cobra in question... dude you have a mild bolt on car... there a dime a dozen... go put a KB2.8 on a built motor and show me what it can do...then you may impress me

You're no longer allowed to pick a car that you simply enjoy driving if you consider yourself an enthusiast, the community tells you you HAVE to pick a side and do things a certain way depending on what kind of car you buy.
People look at me like I'm crazy for not having headers be my first modification to my SS, and it only gets worse when I say I'm going to fully build my suspension (to a set goal, no less) before I consider serious leaps in power.

hmmm LS1 swap?
Well at least you'll loose about 200lbs off the front end, have a lot more room to work in the engine bay and not need forced induction to break 400RWHP...

It's because so much of the car community revolves around this never-ending dick measuring contest.

i agree, altho headers and exhaust i would prly do first just because these cars sounds so good once you do that. but other then basic power stuff like exhaust...sfc, shocks, t\a, lcas etc are decently cheap and completely transform these cars
