Default Supra Owner From Florida

My name is Andrew, I'm from Miami, FL been apart of the Supra world since day 1.
My first performance car was a 1991 MK3 Supra Turbo with bolt ons.

Sadly, that one was involved in an accident awhile back and was parted out..

After a few months of searching for my next project I came across a really clean 1992 shell with a moonroof (very rare) and decided to build another mk3 supra from scratch..

After many upgrades & back breaking hours of labor this is how my Supra currently sits ...

So, I came to the conclusion one day, that building a Supra for the drag strip can be done but, it gets very expensive and it's still hard to compete against V8 powered vehicles at the track. The majority of them are much lighter, parts are readily available, a lot more affordable and extremely easy to work on! So I decided to keep my supra as a street car and build a entirely different demon for the track.

So as of now, I'm searching for a 1998-2002 V6 Camaro (pref 5spd) with the body/interior in good shape. My plans as far as powerplant is a LQ9/T56 swap with a z28/ss rear end assy and some 4:10 gears!

I look forward to possibly meeting any local members and sharing ideas/information! Thanks.

So 2 months later, I found my camaro!

Black 2000 Camaro SS (SLP#4414)
93,644 Miles
4L60E
Clean Title
1 Owner

Got it for $4350!!!

If I come across one I'll grab it too. I just prefer the V6 Chassis for cheaper insurance and the fact that they haven't been beat to **** like most z28's or SS Camaro's.

Welcome!
OP don't listen to this guy! (minus his welcome ) Everyone the Mk4 dyno queens. Love the Mk3s! My first car was an 85 Celica GT-S, wanted a Celica Supra so much (Mk2). Nice ride!!

My advice is to find what you want - A Z28. I just let my 6 speed go for 5k (135k miles but ran GREAT and bone stock!) It gets expensive swapping v6 to v8

Skip adding the 7 3/4 inch 10 Bolt rear end. Go ahead and do a Strange or Moser 12 bolt and call it a day.

Other than that it sounds like you got a workable plan.

Good luck with it man.

Thanks, I'm sure its around here somewhere on the forums, but any idea how much track abuse the stock 10 bolt can handle?

Not much. A decent tire and bolt-ons will break the 10 bolt.

Forget the 12 bolt and 10 bolt, since you are going with the T56, get a Ford 9".
