Default Noob to F-body’s

Hello all, I picked up a white M6 ‘98 WS6 project a couple months ago and I’m just getting started on it.

The body and interior are in excellent shape, however the LS1 has a spun rod bearing.

Perfect excuse for a stroker right? I thought so.

I bought a LQ9 out of an ‘03 Escalade, tore it down and sent it to the machine shop with a forged 408” rotating assembly and a BTR stg3 stroker cam.

While that is getting worked on I’m upgrading the fuel system with a WS6 store sending unit with hellcat pump and racetronix AN PTFE return style system.

I have been out of the car game for awhile, I had a GTO 10 or so years ago and thought about going back to one of them but the TA’s just look so much better! I have a lot to learn about the platform but that’s part of the fun of it for me.

Hopefully I can learn a lot on here!

Welcome! Sounds like an awesome build. I'm in the middle of doing a build on my '98 too. Turbo 5.3 with an M6. Should be a blast!

I’m going to run N/A for awhile and get the feel of
being back in a car. Then I have plans for an S480 to get me around 750-800 on fairly low boost.

I have my SS to give me all the feels, lol. But it's slow, 12.40s as of yet. Good idea to get it dialed in N/A though. I've just been waiting 16 years to turbo my Formula, so I'm going all in right away. I'll figure out how to drive it later, lol.

I think you made the right choice with the WS6 vs GTO. Already you start with a big weight savings and solid axle. I am looking to get back into the game myself but the newer stuff that's out there is too heavy for my liking and everything is IRS. Really wishing I never sold my last F body and just tossed a bigger motor and rear in the car
Welcome to F body bro 👍😎👍 I could be coming back to one myself
