hey guys! joined because I am starting to mod my 2002 Camaro Z28. I live in central Texas and love camaros. My other hobbies include collecting world war two weapons and related, wakeboarding, and baseball. I'm going to major in Software Engineering and I am going to use the money I make to buy my dream cars, a 1957 Bel air and a 1969 Camaro Z28. My current Camaro was my dad's until I bought it from him (he is still alive don't worry). He kept really good care of it (was the original owner bought new in 2002). It has 125,000 miles and still going strong. I hope to keep this car for a very long time. Excited to be a part of this community and learn more about LS series engines and cars in general.
It's really great to see the younger guys getting involved with these cars and this forum, even better that your dream list includes some dinosaur classics - great choices!

Two schools of thought here.
Keep it original, in perfect condition with OEM parts.
Modify it making it much stronger and more rigid with improved performance.
Not sure how to respond to all of your messages individually so I guess I will just type your name and then my reply.
Spamfritter: thanks! Monterey Maroon Metallic is chefs kiss
98CayenneT/A: Thank you!
RPM WS6: I really love F bodies. Even 20 years later they can compete with new production muscle cars and they are easier to work on. My dad is in his 60s so I blame that for my love of classic cars haha.
LSX Thunder: I prefer the latter option for this car just because they are too good a platform not to mod. I also feel like its really the only way to keep it going reliably while being driven often
Kjduvall: Thanks! I also hate the two plate state law. I have considered pulling the detachable bracket and "sorry officer forgot to put it back on after a car show" card but I feel like it's not worth the hastle

Nothing like this in 2002 unless you fabricated it yourself My 98
The UMI Performance SFC is much nicer to look at.
Once you install it, you weld in small pieces of galvanized steel from the SFC to the pinch weld. Now you have created a full frame car. A fabricated 3-point STB helps too.
Then connect both sides of the SFC at the trans tunnel with: Tubular Tunnel G-Load Brace | 1993-2002 Camaro F-Body Firebird | 994 (spohn.net) and then: #13-0035 from Rhodes Race Cars
2 1 3/4 OD .134 Wall - Mild Steel Tubing - (ERW) 2.00 8.23 16.46 4 Point Roll Bar - 93-02 CAMARO - FIREBIRD Material: 309.95
