Just bought 02 ws6 a4 som (newbie)
Just bought my 02 ws6 a4 som and I love it. I'am going to the track on saturday for base line testing before the mods begin.Always looking for best tips on bolt on mods and want to run high 11 seconds to compete in local bracket racing. That is really what i bought the car for plus a few sunday drives.Look for me at the track ,redding or sac in NorCal.Thank you Mike in Chico.I have made 24 1/4 miles passes since I got the car and here are the facts.Bone stock, full tank, nothing removed,3600 lbs 12,800 miles on car with newer ventus street tires at 20lbs launching at 1200 rpm track fair at 1600 feet ran 8 runs at a best of 13.39 @ 104 mph w/2.06 60ft.Ran 16 passes on 4/9 & 4/10 with 1/2 tank of 87,front sway bar removed, slp lid and m/t 275/40/17 drag radials at 16 lbs with no other mods launching at 1200 rpm at 80 feet (alt) with good track prep and very consistant times of 13.34 @ 104.9 mph w/2.04 60 ft and ran exact 6 times.I feel this is the best it will runs for what has been done but will add tci 3500,free mods, magna flow cat back and pcm tune before next time at the track. See ya in the burnout box

Congrats on the purchase! For 11's your gonna need more than just bolt-on's. Id say start with an air lid, then catback, then a torque stall converter, headers, tires, and a fairly large cam with a good tune should get you into high 11's. Or you could just get a nitrous kit and spray your way into the 11's. Good luck though with the new car and welcome to the board!

There have been a few 01,02 cars in the 11's with just bolt ons and a big torque converter. Do your research and you should be able to hit an 11 easily. Good luck. Oh, and welcome...

Predators arent bad, my buddy has one for his 02 z28, but id suggest saving the 350 bucks on the predator and buy HP Tuners or EFI Live to tune your car. Works with just about any laptop and you can do a TON more than with a predator scanner. Your lost looks good right now, id suggest after that headers. Sinc eyou already have an LS6 intake no need to modify that. After the headers go for a nice big cam (which you will be able to tune for with the HP Tuners or EFI Live program) or maybe some gears. Nice time though for your first time with the car on the track!
