Default Introduction

Hi folks. I know almost zero about automotive systems and upgrades. I'm just a regular ol' 46 year old child who has a 2002 Chevy HD1500 that he'd like to get moving a little better. I have no idea where to start. A local outfit wants to drop a supercharger into it. That makes my brow furrow a bit, since I don't know what sort of unusual maintenance or reliability issues that might raise, and I would think that all that extra umph might require some suspension upgrades, etc.

If any of you kind souls would point me in the general direction that I should be looking, I would greatly appreciate it.

Again, I know nothing about these things, but if I can help you in any way with advice on food plots or nutritional supplements for whitetail deer, I'd be glad to. We have the best in the world. Period.

Best,
Jon

howdy...

to get started the first place you will want to start is the truck section... you will find mountains of reading and advice there specific to your truck....

jumping strait into a SC is not giving it more umph... its adding 100+ hp and could be a real tuning nightmare, if they dont know what they are doing....

think of your motor like an air pump...

more air in, more air out=more power....

start with induction and exhaust(the second of which rewards you with a great sounding truck too)

make sure to read any sticky you find, there is a wealth of info to be found...
and before you post a question.....
hit the seach button and see if it has been discussed before.... this will save you some time and frustation...

Have a nice day, and welcome to LS1tech the BEST ls1 site on the web...
