Hello all
Ive got a '96 TA that I sink all my extra money into, the stock motor just recently bowed out at 91k mi. It blew because of the 10psi its been running for the past 4-5 months.
Im in the process of getting a 383 built, while trying to get the fuel system and engine management ironed out.
We got 453 rwhp out of the stock motor with full exhaust and a Procharger D1-sc, now were going for 650rwhp out of the new motor.
I'll have the new motor late this month, early January. It'll probably take me untill the end of January to get the supporting mods done, so she'll hopefully be getting some dyno tuning and drag thrashing in Feb.
Anyway, this site is really busy, and I like it. So expect to see more of me in the future.
Ive swapped 4l60e's 4 times, then finally swapped to a t-56. Then my POS Powerdyne bit the big one, so I swapped in the Procharger. I then blew a head gasket, and went through the top end with stock stuff. And here I am now with a blown motor and a BIG project brewing.
When this next project gets running, my setup will be as follows:
-Port Pros 383 w/stg 2 heads, eagle crank, H-beam rods, SRP blower pistons, 9.0:1 comp.
-Procharger D1-sc (15psi) twin intercooled
-Comp Cam (havent picked the grind yet) and valvetrain
-Ported LT1 intake
-Holley 58mm TB
-Pacesetter Longtubes
-75# injectors with Versa Fueler
-Custom modded LT1 rails with -8AN fittings and .540" crossover tube
-Sumped stock tank
-Bosch 420L inline pump
-Speed inc FPR and filter
-Spec stg 4 clutch
-Drive shaft and rear are in the works.
Then after I have it all together and running with the best tune possible on the stock PCM, I'll be saving for a swap to DFI, XFI, or BS3. The plan is to get rid of the opti all together at this point.
Depending on how things go, I may even wait to put it all together untill I have the aftermarket management to avoid any risk of management problems.
