ive had the car since new, it was actually my fathers. and he gave it to me. it has a lot of miles on it, but it was cared for by my father. 146k on it. all highway thankfully.

i think im gona go for hollowed cats and nothing after the cats, along with hopefully a good turbo/supercharger setup, and reprogramming the limiter. any good places for susp also? 1.5 to 2 inch drop is what im looking at.

146k isn't bad if the car has been maintained. I had a 94Z that I sold to a friend, it had 242k on the stock drivetrain when he totalled it.

im not worrying about mileage whatsoever, the way i look at it, the more oem parts break, the more performance parts i can get, my springs are bad time to get some springs to lower, i got bad strocks time to get some gabriels, an so on an so forth. but id like to put some type of charger in there, i wanna have 390 400 horse, and ill be fine.

383 LT1 crate engine...

You wont need to worry about the mileage on the car bc the engine will be brand new, and you can always S/C it latter.

Thats what i was going to do until i gave in and bought an F-body (still feel bad about selling that car )

good to have another fellow lt1'er, I myself am about to start working on a lt1 caprice cop car, I read somewhere that if you dont do a whole fricken lot to the car you can still get decent mileage (17-20mpg) out of em, also check out this site for alot of info on your b-body, buffman and a couple other guys on here can also give you alot of advice, good luck with the buildup!

Welcome to the club of "Big Boats with Big Engines"

When I got my Impala, with 113K miles on it, I did a basic tune up.
~water pump
~optispark (pray for patience before you begin on this one)
~9.5mm wires
~new fluids

Mods so far @ 138K miles.
~K&N FIPK
~under drive pulley
~catback with Magnaflow mufflers
~air foil in throttle body

I get about 22mpg on the average. A little more on longer trips IF I use the the cruise control. 16-18 when I ENCOURAGE her.

Have fun with her. And don't forget about the brakes. Its suicide adding power in a 5000 lbs car with out good pads.

Good luck.
