Default New Girl From Dayton, Ohio

hi!! i'm new to the sight and wanted to interduce myself. my name is samantha. i'm from dayton, ohio. pretty boring!!! i drive a 01 transam ws6, and it's black. i've had my car a couple months now. i took it to the track and ran a 13.09, stock. just a little more curious about my car and if anyone know specifics on my engine, gears, hp, etc. i know a bit, but keep hearing different things from different people. thought i might ask a few of you guys. figured you might know a little more than some others that drive a different kind of car, and try to tell me about mine and are totally off. and my car is a stick. if that helps with the gears. so if anyone can help, i'd appriciate it. i also read that the ram air models are actually 350 hp not 325 like GM advertised. just wondering also on that. it's at this link.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_Trans_Am

hope to hear from you guys, and girls. thanks!!!

kickass running a 13.0 stock.

325 is what its rated at but thats a conservative rating from GM.

Dunno if your car is stock to run that 1/4 mile time. It's been done, but not by novices at the track.

Is it an automatic or a manual? If it's an auto it might have a torque converter.

Some pics of the engine bay might help us figure out if it is modded.

In any event, nice track times and sweet car.

Or maybe she can just plain drive. Awesome time; welcome to the site. Look up the specs on the 'Vette model of the same year (I think it is 350bhp and 375ftlb) and that will be how much power your engine makes. An ls1 is an ls1. If yours is a stick then it would come stock with 3.42 gears. Oh, and don't let someone stuck in the '60s tell you your car is a 350. It is a 346 and make sure you correct them.

Nice quarter time, which track did you run at?

If you see a car that looks exactly like yours with a Firehawk hood, that's me.

i actually ran out at tri-state the first time. about 2 weeks after i got the car. ran a 13.31 there. and took it to kil-kare and ran the 13.09. i haven't been out to run it for about 2 months though. i went on the first thursday night and hated how many cars were there. just might wait till they open it back up to sat test and tune. get a lot more runs in. but have you been to daytonFbody.com? on june 11th for $35 you can run pretty much all day. they need a min. of 60 cars to rent out the track. i think 80 max. and for all the guys wondering my car is manual. i'll post some pics soon. and this girl knows how to drive. lol!! wouldn't have bought my car if it wasn't.

Welcome and nice times. I am sure with the right air and a good run 13.09 in a stocker is possible... there are some factory freak cars out there that dyno'd the advertised flywheel horsepower stock!

Keep Racin'

I beleive you. 13.09 is certainly possibile for a well driven stock LS1.

I witnessed one of my club memebers run a 12.98 with a backup 12.99 run (both in the 108.XXmph range) in a 100% stock (including tires) '02 WS6 w/ auto trans. I've also seen a '99 SS w/ auto trans run the the 13.1X range stock.

my ex doesn't want to believe it though. even though he was there and seen it himself. i just think he was jelous cause he's invested like 4 grand in mods in his car and can't even run what mine can stock. just for those who are curious he has a 98 cobra mustang. he also thinks that if i was to let him drive it he could get it in the 12's, but won't admit that i ran what i did. he's just mad that he can't beat me in a race. but come on now 4 grand in my car and i should be running pretty well. i just tell him don't be mad cause i was smarter and got the better car. lol!!!!!!!!!

tri-state and kil-kare. but kil-kare is were i got my best time. it might have been that i had the car longer when i went there and was more comfortable with it. by the time i went there i pretty much knew where to launch it at, so i wouldn't spinn them out too bad. fun times though!!
