I bought a 86 Prelude with 276,000 miles for $1200 from my neighboor, then turned around and sold it with 314,000 for $1250. That thing ran like a champ! original engine and trans!! My friend had an accord for about 6 years, he drove it all over the place, he put almost 187,000 mi on it. I started commuting 4 months ago, Im going to start looking around for another honda.

I actually own three honda products none of them are "riced out" and all three have been moved to autocross/roadrace duty. I also have an S10 p/u in the works that is going to be my drag vehicle. Thats the reason why I'm here.
All in all, Hondas are great on gas and fun to drive. Lets not forget to mention super reliable. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I'll try my best to help.

I used to own a 93' ex and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. If gas is a primary concern, look for the HX trim civics (96 on). You should get over 40mpg in one. I do believe it is coupe or sedan only however. If you need the hatch, look for the 5th generation (92-95) VX. The little bastards are supposed to get 50 mpg.

when someone buys a honda for what its for, i.e. good on gas, then thats awesome when hey rice it out is a totally different ball game. kinda like when a 70 year old guy buys a vett and never goes over 50 on the interstate with it, it just pisses u off to see such miss-use of a car!! Ill be in the ball park soon for a new ride. it will probably be of the asian persuasion since i have to drive almost an hour to work now!!

I used to have a 95 Civic EX. It had a 1.6L VTEC engine with cold air aintake : , 17 inch wheels, Bilstein shocks, and a carbon fiber muffler. It was very fun to drive, but I'm glad I sold it and bought my Camaro .

91 hatch ready for the road racing season next year
Easy as cake to work on fun little buggers, top of the food chain nah, but I still love mine.
Broken a few real sports cars hearts too
It was great for me, I learned a ton tore it apart many times trying to make it better.
Now I have my new car to play with, I like Hondas alot, they got a bad name and luckly that crowd is dying out moving to other trends.

I had a honda once. It was a 92 civic hatch with 192,xxx on it that a friend gave to me. I took it up to another friends farm where we drianed the oil out of it and filled the crankcase with tomato soup. Drove the thing arround the farm for about 30 minutes with the tach peged before it blew . So they definatly are reliable.
