Default Hello from that "other" world *Pics Added*

Hi glad to be part of the community. I'm 19 and up until recently my life has revolved around older hondas 84-87, when I was 16 I was hell bent on having a Rwd V8 car but my mom wouldn't have it. Well now its time I sold my 1985 crx with a turbo b16 swap and bought my first camaro, its a 1993 Z28 and I picked her up cheap with a few stupid things bad like A/C, window regulator, headliner, rusted off exhaust but she's in overall good condition. I've always driven manuals I cant stand automatics so I've been thinking about doing a 6 speed conversion but that will cost more than I payed for the car and I'm having a hard time justifying that. My plans are to do some bpu's and slowly work down its 1/4 mile et and make look like new. I've never had an auto before so I'm hoping to learn a bit about gettting one to perform better for my intended use. This is a nice change for me like a breath of fresh air since I'm coming from the world of wrong wheel drive and no torque. Thanks in advance, pics to come soon. -Tom

Congrats on the Z, Woelcome to the Wonderful world of V8 Performance!!

As Stevo said, You tranny swap should not be that big of a hit on the wallet.
Dont worry about the "JUSTIFICATION" of spending money on it. Do what Nike says...JUST DO IT!! LMAO You will be more than happy that you did in the long run.

Welcome to the family.....

Thanks I picked it up for $1200. Gonna clean up the interior and take pics today, luckily the car isn't too molested it just has bigger injectors(not neccesary IMO), K&N cold air, TA style fiberglass hood, and flowmaster exhaust which I'm going to replace with magnaflow catback soon. Other things I have to adress are like a sagging headliner, leaking T-tops, ripped seats and sun visors, and a generally filthy interior(smoker). Gonna be a fun ride I cant wait until its nice.

Leave the damn A4 in there. Add a shift kit and stall when the time is right.

Yes in good time I've definitely decided I'm gonna get it repainted gloss black, found someone who will do it cheap if I prep it.

Welcome. It looks like a pretty decent car for $1500, paint doesn' t look that bad from the pics, and you don' t see that color very often. If the clear is in decent shape, just try buffing it out, and keep it for a little while. If you want to fix it up like you say you do, I' d try to stray from anyone who' ll paint it for cheap, unless it' s someone you know and trust well. There used to be a black Z around here that someone resprayed, and it was orange-peeled like a ****! It barely shined, and you could see runs in the clear! If I were you, I wouldn' t convert to a 6-speed, I would just have the A4 built by a GOOD tranny shop, and put a stall in it! That' s just my

Stalled autos are fun but I would still rather have a 6 speed. Do what makes you happy. Nice car!

I just noticed today that the right rear side of the car is sagging significantly lower than the left side, like 4 inches maybe more. I drove the car to a perfectly level area and got the same results I could make a fist just clear the top of the tire on the left side where I cant on the right. Any ideas? Only other thing is after driving it for a few minutes I start hearing a loud noise up front almost like a horn, I'm assuming the electric fan? Thanks
