newbie Whats going on. I'm a newbie ex camaro and mustang owner. I org had a 94 v6 camaro but after having nothing but trouble i was afraid to get another camaro so went to the ford side. Had my stang for 3 years and finally sold it before i spent any more money on it. 12k and only going low 12's sucked(na,stock bottom end, unported heads, just cams bolt ons suspension). I was going to buy an 03 cobra but have been considering getting an 02 ss camaro because i can buy it in cash basiclly. I'm in the air force and will be moving to az after tech school at keesler afb. I'm orginally from ny. Anyways help sway me towards the ss lol. How realiable are the ls1s compared to the old pos i had. Thats my main concern. Also what sucks on these cars etc. I know rears but what about autos etc. I'm leaning towards finding an auto camaro. Looking for a dd plans are cams, heads, spray if i go this route

Welcome. Nice Stang. Ya know, just because you have problem with one car, doesn' t mean you will with the next one. ALL manufacturers make a few lemons. The average LS1 will be very reliable, if it was taken care of, whether it be an A4 or M6.

i did test drive an auto ls1 before i bought my stang. Bought the stang cause it had a better feel out the hole, but up top man did the ls1 fly and the auto suprised me chirping the 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift. I wanted a stick at the time and ls1's stick were rare

I am a former mustang owner with an SS as well. I can tell you that with good H/C setup with the spray you will have spent alot less and will be moving alot quicker. Definately set some $ aside for the 9 inch rear though.
