Default Newb Z06 owner

This is one of the only things I hate about buying a new car. Every time I do (which is pretty damn often - this is my 9th in the last two and a half years), I have to join new forums and make new "introduction" threads.

I'm 26, from Dallas. I picked up my '04 Millenium Yellow Z06 for a daily driver a little over a month ago. It's a great car; it's also the first GM product I've ever owned.

The previous car was an '02 BMW M3. I loved that thing, but I-30 in Fort Worth claimed the rear subframe. It just became too expensive to fix, with too much down-time required so I ditched it in favor of the 'Vette.

I'm working on getting my 1/8 mile times down right now. My best so far (with Toyo T1R's) is an 8.32. I'm very disappointed in that, so I have a set of Mickey Thompson ET Streets on the way this week. I've joined up with a racing league on Ricekiller.com, so I'm trying to get my times down.

The Z is pretty much stock right now. The only thing I've done is switch out the shift **** (OEM was terrible) and replaced the battery with a Red Top (OEM was dead). I have a K&N 63 intake and Powerchips tuner on the way this week, along with the extra pair of wheels and M/T ET Streets.

A couple pics (I'm still looking for a front license plate cover if anyone has one):

Thanks.

I was actually looking at GTOs when I found the Z. I test drove an '06 AT GTO and an '04 M6 GTO, then saw the Z listed online and thought to myself "Ah, screw it. I'm not married. I don't have kids. What the hell do I need a back seat for?" and bought it.

Yep, that was me. I was only there for an hour or so, though. 225+ different types of beer. You've got to love it. Especialy the Belgians. Mmmmmm...

I remember that pretty well. I was bringing a friend of mine some framed M3 posters that I had left over after getting rid of the M3. I sat inside drinking a Maredsous-8 while he got shot down by women.

I dig the black/black wheels. Damn-nice car.

I don't do the "trips to Mexico". Not my thing. I'm usually at North Star Dragway on Fridays (when/if the weather is clear enough), and I'm on Topline Tim's team in the RKC Drag league. You're more than welcome to give me a run at the track when/if your car's fixed.

Hey nice z06! Im in love with C5 z06s right now...well im in love with all vettes but its just something about em. Ive always liked the 10 spoke wheels that were offered with them. Best thing i like about them is they are AFFORDABLE, ive set myself on getting one in the next few years.

Good luck. I think the c5 Z's are a bargain right now. I paid $33.6k for mine with 28k miles, spotless with new brand-tires. The only things missing were the owner's manual and the front plate cover.

welcome to the club, I remember when I brought my 03 home 3 years ago. I was scared to drive it fast. Now I rev that sucker like it's going out of style, have numerous mods and now need even more horspower. It never ends.

I have heard it said and I think its true, that Pontiac has always been above and beyond on interior. Of course, that coming from a Pontiac owner! LOL
