Default Newbie to the site....

Found this site through my buds at the V8Buick website, which I live on. Been having some trouble with my WS6 and my Buick buds recommended this site.

I'm mostly into older muscle cars, but bought my WS6 2 years ago because I wanted to have something new to collect and keep for years to come. It's got 9,100 miles on it and of course looks and runs like brand new. Will be keeping it stock since I bought it as a collectible. Been having some starting trouble, hence why I'm here. Looking for some knowledge to be passed my way. I have posted a thread here on the board:

help thread
...in hopes that someone can help me out. Also would like to meet people from the Texas area that have WS6's so we can BS.

Welcome to the site Dee! Feel free to ask anything you want and we will do our best to help out.

Now, you mentioned older musclecars, what do you own? I'm currently doing an LS1 swap into my 69 SS, old iron is cool

Hi Tony! Good to see another Texan here.

Here's my list:

'70 Skylark Convertible (currently converting it to a GS clone) I'm big into Buicks.

'79 Z28 (Owned since since '83 - my retired daily driver and street racer)

'89 T-Bird SC (Daily driver)

'00 WS6 (that is now parked in the garage until I can figure out what the heck to fix on it)

I'm not afraid to ask stupid questions, so that's why I'm here. Was hoping nothing would go wrong with the WS6 until after it was paid off. Got to figure out what's wrong with it because I can't afford to narrow down the problem by parts swaping. Any help anyone can give me is greatly appreciated!!!

Do you have a "womens" section here on the board? Didn't see one. Or might I be intruding on a man's world here? Haven't really taken time to look through the whole site.

How do you get pics. added to your signature and as an avatar?

Thanks for the welcome!!!

Ok, gotta know... What does the ZZ502 stand for after '71 Skylark? I think I'm sticking with my Skylarks/GS's because this WS6 stuff is way beyond my shade tree mechanic expertise. Love my WS6, I look really good in it, it hauls, but can't get the stupid thing to start. I knew this would happen just months after my warranty ran out!

We do not have a "womens" section, but we do have several female members. The ratio is prolly around, oh say... 1000:1

Beware of the leg humpers!

btw... A ZZ502 is a 502ci BIG block.

Like Mobe said, its GM's Big Block 502ci. Yeah, the new stuff can make ya go nuts figuring a problem out sometimes. I'm with ya on the old school cars, they're easy to work on.

Never heard of the 502 being called ZZ502. Never been lucky enough to even have a 455 out of the 15 or so Skylarks/GS's I've had. Guess I'm just a 350 girl.
Got to get the WS6 up and running soon because it's the only car I've got with A/C and it's gonna be 102 today!

The ZZ502 is a Chevy Big block that is sold as a crate engine for around 6 grand. The ZZ4 is a 355 horse 350 that Chevy also sells. They are even coming out with a ZZ620 or something like that with either 620 or 720 horsepower depending on which style you want. They also sell LS6 engines for somewhere over 6,500 but thats without the computer and wiring.
