am i the only one who has had a problem with VA speed?
i took my car there to get it tuned, the called my and told me i was running on 4 cylinders. they got it back on all 8, thats awesome! they threw it on the dyno, and gave me a call saying i may have a knocking rod. i went today to pick up my car got it home, popped the hood and immediately and noticed a coil pack sparking, i saw that a couple plug wires were left off the coils. i was kind of upset then i noticed my AIR tube was practically hanging by the bolt, i went to check the other side and there was a block off plate which doesn't make sense to me. i tightened down the AIR tube and the knock was gone. and i noticed a few nuts blots and a metal piece in my wiper cowl.
do you guys think im over-reacting? because i wouldn't expect that from a reputable shop like that.

I witnessed this as mike is a buddy of mine. It was bizarre. No offense to other techs at va speed but this experience he had pretty much detoured me from ever seeking a tune or anything from va speed. it was pathetic :/
And posting it here is going to do what?
Biased for sure, but I would think the best course of action would have been to call them or approach them to discuss the issue.
Broad brush the organization because something may have been overlooked as a competancy issue is ridiculous...pick up the phone.

I can see how you would be upset, I think anyone who says they wouldn't be is lying. But understand that even the best shops/businesses make mistakes. I have no experience with the shop you mentioned, but if it happened to me I would voice my concern to the shop and see how its dealt with. And the manner in which they handled their mistake would be what would determine if I took the car back to them in the future.
Give them an opportunity to fix it and if they're as good as I think they are, they'll make you whole. I work in electronics manufacturing and things happen... it's how these problems get fixed that keeps customers.
Let us know how they react when you tell them of their complete incompetence. I always speak to the owner if I can. Unfortunately sometimes reputable businesses sometimes use rookies to do menial tasks like check wires etc. And they should be supervised for quality.
It happens nut it's how they deal with it that matters to me. I've had a shop put a greasy camshaft into my hatch well once. I got the apology and the shop has been perfect since. It happens but it's how they deal with the mistakes. The good ones make it right.
