Integrity- MTI, Norris Motorsports

Re: Integrity- MTI, Norris Motorsports
Although I live thousands miles away from MTI, they were more than helpful with me. It is true that all shops will have some issues sometimes, but Iam really happy that I went with MTI & recommend dealing with them. Taking care of someone who lives overseas is enough indication of how solid is their customer service.
Also I've heard nothing but good about Norris, especially at the corvette forum.

Re: Integrity- MTI, Norris Motorsports
Gary showed me your car (white Camaro, right?) with the heads off and the pistons looked hammered. I saw it when I picked my car up.
I don't know much about MTI, but I do know allot about Norris Motorsports, It doesn't get better, period! Mike Norris dealt with my questions and rookie crap for about 15 months. Sorry and thank Mike
Good luck with it when you get it back.

99ragtop great post just proves you find out a persons integrity when you have a problem.A Washington PA.shop taught me an expensive lesson about going with local people, sometimes the cheaper guys are the most costly(sarcasm). All future MTI customers can spend with confidence.

Re: Integrity- MTI, Norris Motorsports
I just had a clutch installed at mti this week. I picked the car up, and drove home.
Well, 2 days later, I starting hearing a rubbing noise in the right rear. Seems there was a problem with the emergency brake mechanism locking up the right rear. This was after hours, and I immediately had the car flatbedded over to MTI out of my own pocket. Finally got the car there at 1:30 am.
Called MTI the next morning and informed them of the problem. Jayson took full and complete responsibility, got the parts needed to fix it, and my car was ready that afternoon. I picked it up and Jayson cut me a check for the tow as well.
They're a first class operation and I will always give them first shot for my mod business. I can't tell you how happy I am with how my vette has turned out. I just need to make it to the track now with the new mods.

Re: Integrity- MTI, Norris Motorsports
It has taken me going to MTI to get other companies products to work correctly. MTI has even stood behind their work on other companies "less-than-perfect" products. Now I have to save up $$$ to get the rest of the broken stuff replaced with MTI product. Its been a *VERY* expensive lesson for me, and hopefully not too late. But now I only go to MTI for LS1 motor work even though they are nearly 2000 miles away.

Re: Integrity- MTI, Norris Motorsports
Thanks for all of the great responses and faith in MTI. We deal with a very large number of vehicles and engine assemblies annually and things do you wrong periodically. Whether it's our mistake or a part failure, I put myself in the customers shoes and know that it should be taken care of without question. I will always stand behind what we sell 100% and that is worth far more than a cheap price!
Props to Mike Norris as we both understand the importance of taking care of the LS1 community.

Thank you to everyone who dropped a line on this post and took the time to read it. SLP is doing a customer appreciation day here in Orlando. Perhaps MTI can someday do one. Then all of us can get togather and thank Jayson. And see who is the fastest...

Hey All,
Pretty much have to echo what Jayson said. Thanks to all the kind comments and the customer always comes first. No matter how hard we try, some things are going to happen and how it is handled will truly determine how good a shop is. Treat the customer how you want to be treated.
Later,
Mike

Best people best service hands down, when I spun a bearing in my H/C setup, I dropped the car off that afternoon. People when I tell you I had my car back the following evening I about **** myself. I don't know many companies that will put a new motor in for you in the middle of there workday! I stand behind MTI 110% I have been dealing with them for 8 years and will continue to do so in the future! Bravo!

I agree it is good to see someone post a compliment, although we appreciate being warned of those who do not stand behind their work or products because they do exist.
I have first hand knowledge with MTI customer service and give them a thumbs up. They did my cam install and LS1edit programming and I haven't had a single problem.
My inspection was due at the end of February and I talked to Jayson about putting in rear o2 simms and turning the rear 02s on in my pcm so my car would pass and Jayson told me to come in and he would work me in even though they are swamped with work for the shootout. I was in and out in about 15 minutes and Jayson took the time to discuss my programing options with me. I passed my inspection even with my cutout open.
Thanks again Jayson

Re: Integrity- MTI, Norris Motorsports
I would like to get this post back up to the top. I had Mike Norris do my heads/cam back in May. Car ran great with good numbers, but I had a few issues that I felt were not addressed. Mike took full responsibility, told me to bring the car back and made sure everything was OK. He spent the whole afternoon with the car on the dyno and even though we never got the nitrous to our satisfaction (solenoid issue?), the customer service was fabulous. Sometimes you do get what you pay for and I would like to give Mike, Gary and the rest of the Norris staff and family a "thumbs up!" Ben Russick
