Unhappy disapointed in ls1speed

ordered set of lt's, ofy, and some other stuff from ls1speed inc, over a month ago, called them to see whats up they said they received my payment but are waiting for more headers to arrive. so i'm like, ok cool deal. month goes by, still no headers. seems like a good company but they are leaving me wondering where the hell are my headers!

They are at the mercy of the manufacturer. Its spring time, and EVERYONE has a backorder of parts. Have a little faith in LS1 Speed, they are a solid company and have never let me down.

This is the worst time of year to order parts. Hell I ordered my LSX intake, almost 3 weeks ago, and I got tracking numbers for it just the other day. Its just the usual mad dash to get parts at the start of racing season that has caused the delay.

Have a little patience, you'll get your stuff.

Yea, there is a lot of demand on tons of different parts right now, either way, I'm sure speed will take care of you, they are a very good company

Not from that, but I highly doubt there was anything indicating that those headers were back ordered on their website.
I'd be pissed too

sure wasn't, and if i'da known it was gonna take this long i mighta paid a bit more to have my parts sooner, i mean its not the end of the world but i would have liked to have had my parts that i paid good $ on delivered proptly or been notified they were on back order before i ordered them.

I have a jobber account with a major distributor, I ordered a set of pacesetters in Feb. the ship date is April 14th

it is not speed inc's fault, Pacesetter is not making them fast enough. When I called pacesetter, I spoke with eric and he stated that they were not prepared for the huge response that the f-body community had, so they are behind on production.

i always get kinda confused when people blame the vendor for backordered parts, that's part of modding and racing, nothing you can do about it.

Speed Inc has IMO the best reputation for customer service around, getting upset over a backordered part they can do nothign about is pointless. for example, I have had my wolfe 8 point cage on order with them for weeks now and its still not in..am I mad at Speed? hell no, its Wolfe's fault for being notoriously slow at delivering their product..sucks cuz I need to get it in the car but I'm certainly not bitching at or about Speed Inc..

i understand there as much at the mercy of another company, as i am at the mercy of them to receive my products, however i would have loved to know that there would have been this long of a wait so i could have taken a different route with the money i had at the time. i've only heard good things about ls1speed, and i'm sure there just a dandy company however i beilve they have some issues with comunication with there potential coustomers, about the stock of a product. -Jim

Jim, if you want to cancel or change your order we can certainly do that for you. Your money order was received on 3/8, and if you called prior to that, your part # may have still been in stock. I dont know for sure, but we try to tell everyone if something is on backorder when they call, so that it likely the case.

We only tell customers what we are told by manufacturers, that is all we can do. IF they tell us 2 weeks, we tell that to the customer. If it turns into 3 or more, then people feel we are being dishonest.

Most of the manufacturers cannot make product quick enough this time of year, and it seems especially true in the LS1/LT1 market. It is frustrating for everyone. I dotn like telling people "they havent come in yet" as much as you dont like hearing it, believe me.

Hope you get your LT's soon. I know how you feel about ordering a part and waiting a while before you receive it. I've ordered some stuff from LS1speed in the past and have received it in a timely manner. Good luck to you, wait until you start the install!

This is a very busy time for the aftermarket, seems like they are backordered with a lot of companies.

Pacesetters are on national backorder. I have no control over it.

It is not a SPEED INC. issue, it is a PAcesetter issue. We have had them on order for a lot longer than the month you have been waiting.
