Default Problem fixed with YANK....

well I don't know if you remember but there was a post about our Yank PT4400 that had broken and blew our brand new transmission and a bunch of junk....

well anyways, after a bunch of from talking between Yank, our transmission shop, and Speed Demon Motorsports (the distributor we bought it from)... it was just a bunch of MESS....

Yank wasn't wanting to warranty it, Speed Demon was disagreeing with Yank, the transmission shop was disagreeing with Yank, and we were caught in the middle of everything...

Anyways, another deal was that when we bought the brand new converter from Speed Demon, they did not give us some warranty papers that Yank said they were supposed give us to transfer the warranty to us for a 2-year warranty... well by now (we bought the converter in 12/03) the converter warranty has expired because the serial number shows that it has set at Speed Demon since 4/02...

Anyways....... to make a long story short, after we talked with YANK about all the mods in the car that could have been the problem and determined that none of them were what caused the converter to go bad... and after talking with Mike at Yank about this warranty issue and he said that we were kind of caught in the middle of all this and he realized isn't our fault that he would give us a new converter...

He said that he was screwed because he didn't even show that the converter has been bought from Speed Demon because no transfer warranty papers were filled out.... He said that we were in the middle because how were we supposed to know that we were supposed to get papers (all we got was a verbal agreement that YANK would warranty that for 2 years fromt the date we bought it)... and he said that the transmission shop is screwed because they are fixing everything wrong with the transmission for free.... and the only one that got anything out of it was Speed Demon...

Now with all this confusion, I have NO IDEA who is at fault with this warranty thing or whatever, or what EXACTLY caused the converter (if anything) to go bad... so I am not going to continue pointing blame at anyone...

but i do want to give Mike at YANK the respect he deserves for standing behind this... He is sending us a brand new converter (the new design, since we had an 02) with the upgrades and so on...

I want to thank him and give them the feedback he deserves... again, i think ALL of us are a little confused about this WHOLE situation...but I am glad its over...

Thank You Mike!

EDIT: Mike also just called us back and asked what size T-shirts we were so he could include those along with some stickers with the converter... He also said since we have been without a car so long, that he will Overnight the converter and we should have it Monday...

me too.... it was a big hassle for everyone... because everyone was bitching and mad at everyone for a while and it was a BIG misunderstanding about this whole warranty thing... we were all on the phone constantly....

it was phone tag between:

us
Speed Demon
Yank
our transmission place

and that was quite stessful...

Mike is hard to get a hold of, but that is because there is not a lot of people working for him. Which he said was to keep quality control up... Mike is a really good guy and took care of me VERY well when I bought a convertor from one of his distributors that couldn't hit their *** with both hands. It was not his fault, or mine, but the distributor.... Mike still stood up and took care of the situation. If I ever have another automatic car, Mike will be the first one I will call about a convertor... This time, I will just go directly through him... even if it costs a little more.

What a crock of ****! Mike at Yank LIED to you about me buying additional converters after that one. Made up some story about us having problems with the converter before with some other customer and now he passes blame, steps in and says I will take care of the other shops screw up?!!?! WTF Mike?!?! That's just plain WRONG! We have been supporting and selling your converters for 3 years and this is what I get?!?! I really don't know what to think about this....

SS Girl,
I am very glad to hear that you got everything squared away. Even if Mike used me as a toilet, you got what you deserved and that is the important thing. I called Mike no less than 20 times that day trying to get ahold of him. I wish I could have done more for you...
Maybe I can make it up to you on something else...

but thanks for your cooperation and for trying to help us with the problem... it is really appreciated and i will remember this... Mike is a hard guy to get aholt of... hope things work out with you and Mike

What a surprise. Old habits are hard to break.
And people will still do business with Yank (Mike).
