Well 28 days later, 9 of them holidays or weekends and then 5 of them with strange shut down...I get my car back.

With a friendly bill of $2008.65
Of course the Manager at the shop tells me how he had many unbilled hrs to help me out....

It had zero noises when I picked it up and now with 110 miles on it, I have a tad of decel whine, but it is very light and I figure I will get some as the new gears breaking in again.

Drive line is going to Box up and UPS the parts to JC, give me the tracking number and then I guess I see what Strange is going to pick up of the 2k.

When I talked to JC, he was telling me that it was hard to find a shop that they had experience with in your part of Georgia. Hope it all works out.

JC sent me to 4 shops before this one took it, that is true.
I knew several that could do it, but he wanted someone with Strange ties, which I could see.
I also do understand like I said that 14 of those 28 where holidays/weekends so I know that put problems into the mix.

I thank you for the "Hope" PSJ, and any and all help you have given.
It is on Strange at this point, as how it goes for me. I must say it was nice to have Red back!!

wow. I have a stock supposed POS 10 bolt with 4.10's. Was planning the same process. What gets me the most is Strange told you to take it to 4 (FOUR!) shops before even one would take it??? That says something very bad right away. I mean, that would have been the point where I would have had to stop myself and talk to the man at Strange. I hope the best for you, this really screws me up now. I don't understand wherein the rocket science is needed for a company to build a rear without problems for our Fbodys. Or is it that $2500 just isn't enough money? Someone enlighten me, please. Sounds like rebuilding a 10 bolt is a very good idea.

FWIW: Driveline Services of Atlanta in Forest Park isn't bad to deal with.. They know how to setup a rearend. However, they will stick you with a large bill. They aren't cheap at all, but we had them check out a member on this boards Moser and assemble it, and they have built a few local cars rears. Your experience should be positive from here on out. Strange has really earned my respect by refunding you. Moser has had numerous cases of this occur without helping the customers.

Good Luck,
Josh

Man I was following this thread real close and was very happy to hear that they took care of it. I to am going with a 12 bolt this spring Strange had my vote until this post.....and now after they still do, I really look into this message board before I buy anything for my car and for the normal hard worker american like me 2600$ is a pile of cash for a car. I hope I have no problems with my Strange, but I am happy to see that a company stands behind there product and had your back in the end....

Now where to order one from...........???

ok here is my rearend story, you are not alone, i installed a 12 bolt moser because my stock 10 bolt broke and i was not informed on how to break it in correctly. which is to drive for 20 miuntes, rest for 8 hrs, and repeat 3 times. sooo i had to bring it to cartek to install, and a month therafter the trans broke, and i was down shifting properly and everything and never brought it to a trak yet. so about 4000 later my car works fine but needed to also find a custom driveshaft bc of the new distance between the rearend and trans. now my car is runnig 12.4's at 113 with "420 rwhp" pre new re-rep-installed rear. bottom line, when you mess with f-body rears your looking for a wolrd of trouble and expenses.

Well here is the LONG awaited reply from strange I just got.

They are going to give me $740.00 of the 2K I had to spend to get it back on the road.

so I pay 2600.00 for a rear, >1000miles later it is failing apart,
2006.00 and 28days later I get it back on the road.
Strange gives me 740.00 of it back,
So I have $3866.00 in a rear that Now I am told has ZERO warranty on it.

But he is going to send me a new abs sensor that was broken.

That is absurd. I can understand if you took it to a random shop that just overbilled you and Strange doesnt want to eat all of it, but this was a shop that they sent you to and that they had been in constant contact with. I would take it to small claims court as well.

Bullshit brother. I really feel for you in that situation. I hope it works out in the end. Strange will not be getting any of my money any time soon.

Its kind of messed up that they sent you to a shop to have thier warranty work done and now you get the shaft. I hope you are able to solve this problem. Maybe PSJ can talk to these guys again and see if there is any middle ground to be had.

Sorry to hear about this what seems to be a bad deal with Strange. I'm saving up for one now, but after reading this entire thread I'm having some second thoughts...

Moser has crappy customer service from what I've read, and has some issues with the rear "bolting on". Now problems with Strange are arising? This really bites for us F-bodies.
