Man that is a bad situation, BUT you should have been more knowlegable about your product that was being purchased, never trust some shadetree mechanic to order your stuff much less install it, this isn't the 60's and they just can't be trusted. That is an install I'm sure you could have done yourself just would have taken a little more efford. " The air is salty so your headers rusted" I would have smack the **** out of that dude, I think your lucky KOOKS is a quality company this could have been worst.

i dont know how lucky you get, but jet hot coating will still rust on the bottom of the headers where it sees raod film, rain, oils, whatever.
its pretty common place with ANYONE ive ever seen with jet hot coated headers.
maybe the coating doesnt rust, but its so thin that maybe the rust bleeds through?

how does dust turn into rust, or am i missing something?
if you installled the right parts, so be it. but i see you placing the glame on the customer, when indeed it may just be a bad batch of materials.

Man, that sucks!

Stainless will get suface rust (but damn), but I've only seen it when next to, or exposed to salt water. Even your sparkplugs are coroded pretty bad. I also see some other hardware in you engine bay with rust on it so it's not just your headers, seem's like you are exposed to salty conditions and it's got into your engine bay somehow. I don't know man .

there is absolutly no blame on the customer im just saying the dust could be doing something to the headers i really have no idea.... it also could be the material but people on here are saying its my fualt and its deff is not at all....

The Magnaflow stainless mufflers we had installed on my brother's C6 have started to get some mild rust and pitting on them. It's not bad, but it's definately not surface rust. There are some bumps and pitting, and it's very difficult to polish off. This is on the polished end caps too. I was always under the impression that those grades of stainless don't rust either, and these mufflers are polished so I'd imagine they'd have to actually be stainless. Just food for thought.

Ok for the last time guys, the spark plugs are NOT coroded, it's dialetric gel in combination with the close picture i took it looks like corrosion but they're not. Fran did order the right parts so i can't put any blame on him. That's why i posted the messsage to see if maybe there were some error and reason to my headers rusting. My car does stay pretty dirty all the time which i would consider the dirt being a contributing factor if it hapened to any other part of my exhaust. This only happened on the headers though so i dont think it's the dirt. I had a Set of Jet Hots and while they did gather rust and such (bought them used almost 2 years old), they looked much better than my kooks headers. If i had known the kooks would have done this i would have definately gone with coated headers.

wow i am amazed how angry you all get sorry i was talking on the phone while typing, to the point:

surface rust is normal, i live by the ocean in a the real northern california like 60 miles south of OR, but stainless rusts bad! At least in this weather and when i go spearfishing anything with a stainless finish rusts. The reason i got Jet Hots if they rust through they will replace them.

Something is not adding up...there is no way that those are only 4 months old and stainless. I dont believe that for one second. You loose your car in the Ocean or something man? then fish it out a year later?
