Are my Kooks headers supposed to rust like this?
take more pictures not so close up so we can get a better idea of whats going on.
Thanks for your worthless contribution to this thread.I'm about to install some Kooks LTs on my car in the next few weeks and love their product, thanks George!

Valve springs are the main focus right now, my car is just plagued with problems. I get the only set of heads from ET with defective springs, yeah they'll send out new springs (if i pay for them) but who the hell is going to install them, same as my rusting headers from Kooks, who's going to remove and install them? It's not really a matter of resolving the problem it's just something that happened that i wished didnt happen. I bought expensive high quality parts to avoid having these problems yet unreliability is still present in even the most prestine of companies. Don't mind me though I'm just not happy with anything tonight.
if you took pics with the valve covers off, all the hard work is over.
id see if some buds can help out that have the tools.
shouldnt take more than an hour or so to replace the entire set, unless you are just doing one, and its a snap.
good luck.
hahah no offense but i HIGHLY doubt that....... kooks have probably over tripled in size in the last year or 2 i bet....... and i only see them getting bigger......a business doesnt double in size for no reason........quality and performance is what kooks is after and i beleive they have it on lock.......
As far as the issue at hand, Shawn, why would you leave a set of faulty headers on your car? You've spent all that money on it, yet you want to leave headers the manufacturer even said to send back to have replaced. If I were you, I'd go out and buy some cheap tools and do that **** yourself.
Does the car sit somewhere that would be exposed to extreme temperature or humidity changes ?
Some grades of stainless do rust. In a lot of cases the stainless used in headers isnt the highest grade, simply because top grade stainless can be very brittle and difficult to bed.
Obviously headers require a lot of bending, so you might find using a lower grade is necessary.
