Default Taking out the battery?

Hi, I just parked my GXP for the winter, and I tried to take out the battery and the damn thing is wedged in there, so I put it back in....there is no room in there at all.....So I went to the dealership and the guy said if your battery is fully charged up it should be fine when I start the car in the spring time, it my just need a boost.....but what about if I put a battery blanket around the battery, should that be okay?

Thanks

Battery blanket?
There are two, different ones, the first type, is a true blanket, its not plugged in, thus only provides a -/+12 volt supply of juice!! But the other supplies a +12 volt supply. It will supply a positive charge up to 12 volts! untill it runs out.

If its plugged in and the battery don't go dry, it SHOULD be fine! Use a Battery Tender or Schumacher version that will stop charging when fully charged. They are also polarity sensitive.

LOL!! Aw man! I just recently had soooo much fun trying to yank my battery out!! This was one of the most interesting experiences with a car to date. I unhooked a couple of wires from their clamps in the surrounding area. I unhooked the fuse box(just unscrewed those top screws) so it could lift & have a little more play in it. & it still seem impossible to do but I had a helper lift on the fuse box & I tilted the battery towads the fuse box & lift it up out of there but trust me it much easier said than done. took about a hour(or more) to figure out!! Its rediculous how the manufactures don't want us touching anything!!

Yeah its a pain in the ***, so I say screw it,. if the car doesn't start in the spring (even if boosted) I'll buy an optima red top and get GM to tow it to the dealer, install the new battery and the 12v battery blanket I have 5 months to worry about it

how does it save weight? i think moving the battery would just move the weight unless youre talking about the extra cable length and battery box needed...
