Bluetooth for pre 2009 W body
Guys,
I have a 2008 Lacrosse Super. I noticed the 2009 LaCrosse comes with Bluetooth. I decided to order the 2008 & 2009 service manuals to see what the difference was to install Bluetooth.
I read the books and both years have the same schematic for the Communication Interface Module (CIM).
The 2009 manual show the "wireless communication interface (WCI) Antenna" replacement. It just attaches to the CIM.
Next time I am into my local dealer I will just ask them to install a WCI. I am sure there is some software changes required to make it activie.
Has anyone tried to do thiis, add Bluetooth to a pre 2009 vehicle?

Not sure if it would be just that easy, but hopefully it is. Good luck and keep us posted. I love having bluetooth, although mine was a result of installing the Pioneer Avic D3 and adding on the BT to that, but regardless it's very nice to have.

Another option might be this... http://www.costartech.com/pb/products/bluestar.html
I am considering it, but saving my money at the moment. I'd love to hear from anyone that has installed a solution using the onstar hardware.
