Like running a four barrel carb on a two barrel intake. Good job GM! I'm supprised our cars perform so well. It's quite obvious why our cars don't respond to mods. Everything we do seems to have a slight effect in power gains, but usally at the cost of losing some low end torque, and with DOD, losing a little bit of bottom end is bad. These intakes won't really support to much power above 5k, IMO. Thanks, for the dedication Jeremy. I can't wait to see some dyno resaults!!

Believe me this is a very good mod. As I mentioned before I put on the ported intake from Fasterproms and gained around 2/10ths in the quarter mile when my car was set up naturally aspirated. This was without the ported throttle body. Adding the ported throttle body would probably add another 10th or so. Every 10th in the quarter mile is around 10 hp. I'd say a good 25 to 30 hp gain.

Manifold will not set codes, but the throttle body might. Codes can be tuned out and Jeremy can tell you how.

No, porting the exhaust manifold will not set any codes. The car will be fine. I want that and the intake porting. I need a new exhaust for the GTP first.

Another quick question, since the port doesn't look mild how will the intake manifold up druing long periods of time???meaning will it break since its plastics and was design a certain way to hold up under long period of time,I understand with metal but kinda of sketchy with the plastic...

Is there any way you could port the intake mani to get ride of that giant-*** D cut we have in the manifold neck? That's like a 40 hp killer right there...

In the years and hundreds that we have done, there has not been a longevity issue. The manifolds are not a wear item and putting them on a diet should never expedite any long term failure.

Thanks,

Dan

The D shape is cast that way to make clearance for the Oil preasure sensor that is right next to the intake opening.

Come on guys! NEVER under-estimate the power of the "D shape Port" We have a hidden power with it.

Just a Question? Who knows the shape of our and most LS exhaust ports?
Why is that I wonder?

Most LS based motors are Cathedral Port. The newer ones are more square like.
