Second one of my wheels had some curb rash. I got some 2000 Grit sand paper, Blue Magic wheel polish, and Eagle 1 aluminum wheel cleaner.
Couple pics of the damage, Couple pics after wet sanding.

Finally pics after some polish was applied. Got most of the scratch's. If u look closely in the last pic you can see the difference of what was left after the wet sanding and polishing. It shows up as a slight distortion on the left side of the wheel spoke. Its alot better than the large sratches. Telll me what u all think.Any other sujestions.

Took me a little time with the nightshade.the one turned out perfect, the other one ran. Had to sand it down and start over. But you cant tell now.
JP GXP where did u get that 3rd light cover or is it painted on and what bulbs do u have in your reverse lights????
Rossko do u got pics of your tails. I plan on getting theLED tails someday. Since we both got silver cars im really interested in how it looks.
With night shade its important to take ur time. Found out do a light sanding with 2000grit paper, plastic cleaner helps out alot.

Nice job...but I too thought the GXP wheels were clearcoated as well. :-/
LOL. When I did mine with niteshades, plus clear, I never got them shiny enough for my liking. They were smooth, but hazy. Flip got them where I needed to be.

Yes they are clear coated. Thats why i have a slight distorion if u look closely. where i sanded down to the real metal, vs the polished and clear coated finish. Its just like paint. If u needed to you could sand the whole wheel down. Polish them back up and clear coat them again. Even with CLear coat its good to put a aluminum polish on in my mind. It ads another layer of protection and shines the wheels up even more. I only did it buy hand, But soon ill be going at it with actuall power buffer to get the shine closer. then ill respray with clear coat. The right polish is just like wax for your paint.

You have to give a heavy coat of clear. That why one of my first lights had a run, but it makes them shinny

the wheels and tails look awesome!
I'd like to do that to my wheels as well, as mine have tons of micro scratches on them.
Just to be clear, you wet sanded and used the blue magic wheel polish on the clear? rather than a regular rubbing compound/clear polish?

Been thinking about using a wax on the wheels to help protect agains mag chloride here in colorado. Maybe a cutting wax to help cut down on the micro scratches.
The sanding help with the micro scratches but they are still there. I only hand polished the wheels. I wanna get the mini power ball or some sort of pollishing wheel.
