Default Electric Cutout

Was wondering if anyone has put any electric cutouts on their imp. Ive been looking around trying to see whats out there. My only concern is that I'll be disappointed if it kicks into DoD and I hear it in 4 cylinder mode.

i have one the QTP on my GXP and i love it. i would think it would sound the same on the imp. when it goes into DOD it kinda sounds like a helicopter (best way to explain it). i love everything about mine.

LOL that what i thought. Sounds alot like a helicopter. Other times it can almost sound like a subaru boxer motor.

Where did you put yours DP? I was lookin under the car and i saw a spot by the right rear tire. I know people put them after the headers, but I don't know if that would throw a code or not.

i got mine right after the res. some people have mentioned it will melt the gas tank since it is plastic but there is a heat shield (at least on the GXP) right in front of the tank and i also put up a heat screen like this on the gas tank. i also dont run it open constantly either.

here is where i got my cutout from

On the second link I saw that you can get a 2.25 pipe and with a 2.5 valve. Wonder if that works with any pipe and any valve. If so I could buy the pipe from somewhere and the valve from DHM. Ive been reading alot that QTP is iffy and DHM is the way to go. Plus the warranty.

order 2.5 inch from dmh. All depends on where you place the cutout if you need it built into the wye or not.

Depends on where you put it. If you put it before the cat it will throw a code. If you put it after the last o2 sensor you should be good. Alot of people seem to be putting the cutout in place of their res. Personally I dont like the sound that raspy kickback sound you get when you get off WOT with the res gone. I think Im putting mine behind the res, but that could change.

For anyone looking for an electric cutout, you can go through DMH. I contacted them and they said they have the 2.25 Flowtech Y pipe to fit their 2.5 valve.
