So i got to test my car out last night with some races. It pulls ALOT harder! I am somewhere between a 13 and 13.2 1/4. I pull a lot harder on the high end as well. Defiantly worth the work and money. I cant wait to tune it and see what i put down on the dyno.

So i wanted to get my tune and test a few things out before i posted about my work. I got it tuned and dynoed. I set my revs to 7000rpm. I can now rev in neutral and had my down shift points increased. My auto mode shifts at 6500rpm.
Before my work i was dynoed and put down, 259.5hp, 313.7tq@3700rpms. Now i put down 276.8hp, 369.6tq@2800rpm. Also my power curve has no more knock or valve float. I have 230hp at 7000rpm, and 260hp at 6500rpm so i am thinking i will shift at 6500rpms.
I raced a few cars with my upgrades and it feels much MUCH faster. I beat a 370z and a couple of my friends that have been to the track and run 13.3. I am estimating that i do a 13.1 but i will find out when i get to the drag strip.
So the bottom line is that i gained a HUGE amount of torque and a little horsepower from 1500 worth of upgrades. I gained an average of 12hp throughout the entire power band.
My next upgrade will be 125 shot of nos that i am now tuned for.

Any way you could post the dyno plot? If not, I would be interested in hearing what torque value the stock and modified put down at 4500 RPM and where your horsepower peak occured for each one respectively.

Im a lil curious where you live mongoose, those numbers are nice...for the dyno...here in IN i put down prior to tune 237whp/267fwtq and after the tune on NA

257.43whp/277.88fwtq and 324.26whp/385.35fwtq with the N2O at 100 shot

and was in the middle of the run climbing, but my bottle wasnt as full as it should of been for running as much as we did and I ran out of drugs in the middle of the run, we also custom machined a fuel jet for my shot while on the dyno to smooth it out even more on that run, so im thinking another 10 horsies and 15fwtq at least cause the run prior was 319.90whp/382.73fwtq. I have my numbers in my profile...

the N2O will be needing monitored a lil bit man...as far as AFR, i would recommend tuning the N2O when you get it...and a 125 is a bit much...I dont know if you have any tranny work done or not, but my 100 is prob too much, but we moving down to a lil 50 shot with the turbo, but i would recommend a 75 after you get it tunned in, or just make sure you mind your shift points while spraying and you AFR...I would recommend getting an FJO mini controller like I have, it has built in tuning in it for where you want it and how you want it etc...it has a built in window switch too...and you should grap a fuel pressure safety switch and set that bitch...to like 50 now lower...and monitor it on a fuel press gauge off the line with a sender....but there are many ways to do it, just be safe at it...Ive been here, so just passing it along...
and another thought...1/4 mile was 14.4 at 98mph with a 2.3 60ft time on NA

1/4 mile was 13.6 at 108mph with a 2.2 60ft time on N2O

So im not docking you at all, but I would expect you would see times in the mid 14's without any form of forced induction....so let me know asap as well...looking fwd to seeing what that beast is going to lay down....

SM,

Get some 3.29's in the trans. and you WILL easily be in the 12's. By how much are you beating the friends who run 13.3 or 13.2? If it's by half a car length then you can estimate .4 seconds off thier time. I know it's only a guess but I had an old GP GT and held off a turbo volvo in the 1/4 till the end and he ran a 14.8 to my 15.2. He only beat me by half a car length. And yes, the GT was stock with a 2.2 60' time. Not too bad I guess.

i was beating the 13.3 by like a car length, i was gaining though and i launch poorly. See i would have thought i was in the 12's but i ran a corvette that does a 12.9 on the track that just raped me. Granted that was before i was tuned but still.
i can see if i can upload my dyno graph.

Now that you are tuned it would be a different story with the Vette. What year Vette? I am not saying you'd beat it but it would be a lot closer now. I am confident with a great launch you'd be in the high 12's. 3.29's would make a HUGE difference in acceleration. It did for me... Plus, I lost the cat and that made a big difference too. I have a Hogan Catless one. Great mod... I am just missing the ported intake, mani's and rockers. But the last one is coming very soon.

This always confused me, every single source I have found says that the 4T65E-HD has a 3.29 gear in the differential already. The chain/sprocket set alters that to a 2.93 effective ratio. So....unless you swapped out the sprocket gears to get a different effective ratio, you should be exactly where you were when you started. Did you put in new gears and sprocket, or just changed the sprocket? Or is all the information out there wrong on the gearing of the tranny?

All new gears and sprockets. Trust me, there is a BIG difference. I have all the originals in my garage. There was a difference between those and the ones that went in the trans.

All GTP's and GXP's have 2.93's. I contacted Triple Edge Performance for all the info and spoke to Dave Norris. He has done a few re-builds on this board for people and used 3.29's. I think one of the re-builds is a turbo Monte LS4.

If my math is correct you have about 345 hp at the crank or so. That's is pretty damn good. I am guessing. How hot was the car when you ran it on the dyno? Was it cold?

If it was cold or slightly warm you could have expected another 8 to 15 hp out of the run depending on the humidity. You ARE putting down some power dude. NICE!

Oh, I bet the C-5 had more than he was telling you too. Plus, isn't it a slightly lighter car than we have?
