i drive 30 miles to work on a hilly 55 zone and have been averaging about 20 no matter how i drove. after playing around day to day to see what works better, i would agree that the faster acceleration to cruising speed does pick up mileage. the other thing that has been working for me is running my car in 3rd gear the whole way at 60mph. running about 2250rpm in 3rd which keeps the car from lugging along and having to try harder up the hills. seems to work well and my average picked up to about 24.
