SO...I thought I had a lifter going south...tap tap tap tap..but.. A few mornings ago, I started up the LS4 and I was getting the worst tick tick tick tick tap tap tap etc you could imagine...I mean it sounded BAD and was loud as hell.....
Drove to work, all was ok, no power loss, no trouble codes....now, it did get a little quieter as the engine warmed up...
So I called my dealer...(I am one month out of warranty now) And I was pissed thinking it was a big problem.. So I took it in, and of course with the engine hot you could not hear it as well, so I left it overnight and in the morning they said it was LOUD...They had it running up on the hoist and found my FLYWHEEL cover was loose. Once they re-torqued that down and repositioned it, all was perfect!!!!!!!!!!! Funny thing is, this happened like 9 months ago for a day, and it went away, never tought anymore of it....
So guys and girls, if you do get a loud tick noise, it could be that loose!
