Sorry to hear about the difference but...

How does it look, did they do a good job? Maybe you may be able to sell it to someone with a 05-06 LS4 and use the money to get the proper one done. They will have more experience at doing it now.

Was the new intake off a GXP or an Impala/Monte? The reason I ask ,I was searching GM parts direct and the Imp/Mon shows a manifold 06-07-@- 170.00 us, but under the LS4 GXP it only shows an 07 -@- 119.00us. But it shows the same pricing for the 05-06 GXP intake as for the Imp/Mon.The Question arises is the GXP manifold different. They don`t show P/N`s.

Great to hear!

So the next question is how much do you have tied up into it right now?

In changing the intake GM also changed the MAP sensor here is a quote from GM.

Advanced MAP Sensor
An advanced manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor completes upgrades to the 5.3L LS4’s control system. The MAP sensor is a variable resistor used to monitor the difference between atmospheric and manifold pressure, which tends to increase when the engine is operating under a higher load or at wide-open throttle. The ECM uses information from the MAP sensor to adjust spark timing and fuel delivery to optimize performance and minimize emissions.

In the LS4, the sensor has been moved to a new location on the intake manifold further from the throttle body. This improves fidelity by isolating the sensor from disturbances caused by the throttle’s movement, and takes full advantage of the E67 ECM’s capabilities.

I have been trying to find a P/N for the newer MAP

Is there any reason your map sensor wouldn't work, just relocated?

Default Ported intake...

I wonder if this would work on my '05 GXP. I have a ported TB (uninstalled) and figured I'd wait to see if anyone ended up selling a used ported intake. Will this one for sure work on an 05 GXP? Any thoughts?
Thanks,
BJ

Why don't you just extend the existing wires/connector and pop in the map sensor from your manifold?

Well if you were closer (20 hr drive one way) I would be interested but with customs and duties, shipping is out of the solution. My loss.

Slomaro2 there are only two intakes available for the LS4, one like yours, mine and the ported one with the MAP sensor at the TB neck and the other with it at the relocated area. Like I stated earlier

Intake manifold, grand prix, 5.3l
2007 $200.83 $119.05

gets Paul a new intake to have ported in the USA and 320.00 for the porting job again and a little waiting.

You would not have to wait, it is pre inspected and you get to report on the performance gains, once installed.

because the stealership will notice and that for sure would void warrenty work.. plus i think the new Map sensor is different due to the location it sounded like the MAP readings in the 05 position were affected due to throttle body movement and so a less sensitive sensor was used

Would that be a warranty problem?

The first series of MAP sensors were for the E40 computer system and the later Advanced Map sensors are for the E67 computer system. By putting the faster sensor in the TB neck it would make the MAP sensor unstable and therefor problems will arise or amplify the reason GM changed it to start with.

I want it, but I have a 2008 GXP, so I will have the same problem as you.
